I live in Atlanta, we either have sky high humidity or its bone dry in the winter. That makes products with glycerin in them tricky for high porosity hair. I have watch my braid out turn into a straight afro in minutes when the humidity is high. I will not use for that reason. If the due point is below 30 or above 60, I don't mess around with glycerin.

I quickly hit subscribe after watching this video. Very informative. Thank you. I leave in Texas and that would be a great moisturizer product...an all in one product. Do you need to even add a sealant since it's in the products? I'm looking for a good moisturizer to get me to my next wash day....coming from a high porosity natural girl that works outside. I just went to their website and they changed the ingredients...don't know why...but I would've preferred the list you are showing.

I live in Jamaica..... could I use like for instance a aloe vera product as the humectant but follow up with a butter as the emollient to stop frizz and water to escape?

So my question is once your sealant locks in the moisture, does it also lock moisture out? How do you continue to get moisture/hydration INTO your hair unless u wash the sealant out?
@NowIAmNappy
@NowIAmNappy 3 жыл бұрын
Depends on the sealant, some sealants requires shampoo but others that are lighter can allow you to re moisturize after

I'm so confused about the whole humectant/anti-humectant deal. I purchased some humectant gel recently, but now I'm afraid to use it. Why can't there just be one leave-in cream you can use for any dew point/weather? Having curly hair is too confusing! 😭
@NowIAmNappy
@NowIAmNappy 5 жыл бұрын
Girl, go ahead and try the gel, what climate do you live in? Sometimes it works for people regardless, everything is trial and error. I can do a video about the difference if you're curious.

@@NowIAmNappy Oh no, you don't have to do a video for me! So kind of you to offer though. 🙏 I'm still learning, that's all. I live in Perth, Western Australia. It's pretty dry most of the time. I've purchased a bunch of products from Aveda and a couple of other brands, so I guess I'll just have to play around and see what works for me.

@@NowIAmNappy so i have been using curl maker ( plant gel ) and the other day I went out and my hair turned super firzzy shapeless and even felt a bit wet im guessing the dew point was high. I used a leave in then the gel. Do you think buying something like shea butter to seal everything can fix this?
