Discovered your channel for the first time. I have played quite a bit of Pantheon but if I was just thinking of playing for the first time, this video is an outstanding guide and introduction. I still picked up a few things myself. Really looking forward to more content.

Just pledged yesterday. Started as a cleric and not sure if I picked the wrong class to start as a beginner or not lol. Ran around for probably an hour after getting a ton of quests in the town from scavenger, trying to figure out what to even do. Appreciate this video as it took me way too long to realize that sitting recovered hp/mp lol. From your experience have you seen what classes might be beginner friendly? or are they all pretty much the same.

@onlytheghosts Cleric is on the harder side. As far as healer goes shaman is a bit easier. Monk/Wiz are two of the easiest to start with. Just make sure you understand wizards focus mechanics.

I'll definitely be playing a caster so I can sit and type out weird things to people while I get mana back.

Only other game i can think of lately that has a good old school feel that promotes group play is embers adrift. I have both but still havent put in time in Pantheon, its my task for this weekend.

This was a good video. I was going to eventually play this, since I backed it, but as someone who was/is not happy with the Devs, I lacked enthusiasm. I still am not thrilled, but I like it from the systems aspect. I guess I will have a little bit.

Even with the lower quality graphics, just having the darkness to the areas really adds so much depth and immersion to the world. It's almost better than games with better graphics that don't have dark caves, dungeons or night time darkness in many ways. When I started WoW this was one thing that always bothered me. The lack of real darkness takes away any game element dealing with light sources, racial abilities to see in the dark, torches, spells to see better that the party will appreciate, etc. There are so many game mechanics and possible social uses that it's sad the devs of games after EQ didn't see this. Needing to go back to get corpses or ask for help when you die is another major aspect games have been missing since EQ. The worlds never felt dangerous, and yes frustration is a part of that, for better or worse... It really made the entire world and experience feel asinine. Too gamey for me. What's scary about a dark forest and creepily strong undead spawning at night time if night looks like day but a little bluer, and if you die you can just rez up without losing anything at all and be on your way. Dying so skip content or areas just by rezzing again and again, never needing to rely on the help of others, never being able to be useful to others to help retrieve their body and items... So many missed interactions, possible friendships, etc. In these two examples, we can see how the little things can completely break apart the delicate social fabric that makes an MMORPG feel truly special and alive. I have a million examples like these, but I'm glad to see the devs haven't missed these things. I hope to see unique racial starting zones if that's not a thing though! Because that's another big one.

@@jadeon77 I hope it succeeds, and I hope MMORPGs in the future take notes from it. Since most of them seem to have forgotten the finer points of older games like EQ.

When I first found this game I had no kids and was playing EQ TLP's and was super excited. Now I have 2 kids 6 and 7 years old and I've turned into a troll. I wanted this game to be something special but I just don't see it. Steam is going to eat this game in the reviews. I doubt it'll be as popular as a fresh TLP and probably won't have population in the time frame of a TLP's first expansion.
@jadeon778 күн бұрын
I feel the jadedness, I deal with it a lot myself. Sorry it's that way for you but appreciate the feedback. On the flip side my ever optimistic self believes it will turn out quite differently both on steam and with the overall population. Here's to you though hope your kids are healthy and happy and hope to one day see you smiling in Terminus.

Like the map system in mortal online....you can scribe maps for players or sonce people dont want to rp and cheap arses they just go to a free website someone made thinking they are helping people by ruining the game.

Would think they could pretty things up a bit. I've been following Pantheon since 2015 or so when it was only in the drawing board. Sorry to say though it doesn't look impressive and looks like something already 15 years old. Character looks are pretty bland, the UI is horribly ugly and clunky looking, wondering to even bother at this point.
@jadeon7711 күн бұрын
There are some rough spots that's for sure, but overall many areas/models that have been updated look very clean and are very enjoyable. The UI is absolutely a massive sore thumb and it's going to be completely overhauled later in the process but I feel you on that. Thanks for the comment!
