Thank you! Ah very nice! Not all cars can do it, it’s only models that don’t have a touchpad in the middle of the car from what I’ve seen. Those models require you to log into the app to add a second user which copies the photo across.

On the instruments cluster on 2021 GLC 300 4 Matic AMG Line, there is a speed indicator on the upper part of the screen. It shows the speed in kmh. Please can this be changed to mph? Thank you Chris! Glad you’re loving the videos! Actually this is quite a common question but sadly no this cannot be changed. Basically it is a legal requirement to have mph and kph shown somewhere on your dashboard. Some manufacturers show this on the dials in small writing but Mercedes have a digital display of this. Hope that answers your question!

Hey Anthony, what model of Mercedes do you have, I’m sure most of them have an unlock/lock button right next to the handle on your side :) If you don’t want it enabled, in most Mercedes-Benz you can switch it off.

Could you advise on why the "online services not available" now pops up most times making it impossible to ask "hey mercedes" anything other than the most basic functions... the A250 seemed ok for the first few weeks after collection on 17 Oct 2020. I would like to see in the new Mercedes Benz,like the GLE, what happens when you press the favourites button. I see there is one on the steering wheel, on the touchpad and sometimes in other parts of the car. Does this take you to the favourites menu? Or can you assign them to a particular task? For example, there used to be a 360 degree camera button and now the camera button takes you to the park assist first, so i was wondering if you could program one of the favourite buttons to “camera” so you have a parking button and a camera button (to save scrolling)

Hi Michael H, You can assign quite a lot of things to the favourite menu from Radio stations, sat Nav destinations, alarm for the car (inside and outside), phonebook contacts and on some models you can even assign the 360 camera. It’s only used for parking though as it can’t be used for anything else.

Not sure if I am missing something in the Mercedes Me setup but the functionality in Australia is limited to only displaying odometer reading, locking/Unlocking doors and valet parking.

It might not be out in Australia yet...and I’ve also found it’s only compatible with cars that have MBUX “Hey Mercedes”. Have you spoken to your local dealership? They might be able to shed some light on it for you! 😊

Thank you gentleman, I knew about all of them ,but you teach me the how to enable traffic light and limit the speed to the sign. Yesterday I drove my CLA 2021 version and there was many different speed limits on my way 30,50,70,90 and they came in randomly and unexpectedly in short period of time , I wished if the car could not only read them for me but also switch the speed limiter for me automatically, However this is still not possible but at least I can do it manually by pressing the twice the small button, even then for my case it is distracting to do that every time on short distances in a busy traffic. Thanks for you and for Mercedes. The speed limiter is dangerous a bit, because if you need to accelerate quickly to get away from a situation it will hold you down, this can cause in rare cases an accident.

Ah amazing, I’m sure I’ll do another tips and tricks somewhen in 2021 for everyone! There might be some more advanced ones in there :) So with Traffic Sign Assist, it’s part of the Premium Plus Package in the UK. So if you don’t have that package (one with the sunroof, electric seats etc) then it won’t work. It features a camera on the top of the windscreen that will read speed signs. If you have standard equipment or executive or Premium, then the speed limit sign you see is based on the Nav data which will receive updates about 4 times a year. Oh and one last thing, with the speed limiter and accelerating, if you push down hard it will override (just in case you need to accelerate quickly). But of course there is the CNCL (cancel) button as well.

Hi Adrian, Ooo exciting! It depends if you’ve ordered the facelift model or not. The new E-Class is scheduled to have a facelift kind of around about now, but due to COVID-19 the new ones might be delayed. Hard to tell but your dealership will be able to advise you!

Hi Nick, I think I have one of the last of the older ones. It’s a 2020.5 MY and I’ve heard from the dealer they have it in stock now. I’m just holding tight for a month for the 70 plate. I suspect therefore it may not have all the features. I’ll ask the dealer and check it out! The other thing I find unusual is that the centre of the two 12 inch screens isn’t a touch screen. Seems they missed a bit of a trick there, as you have to use the unusual looking touchpad/wheel instead. Yeah Adrian back when the E-Class was designed in 2015-2016 touchscreens didn’t exist in Mercedes-Benz! Now they’re cropping up everywhere! It’s still an amazing system though, even better than the one previous to that!

The pre facelift E Class doesn't have MBUX but it has the newest version of Command which is still nice in my opinion. It uses the rotary controller which is nice to use.

Thank you! 🙏 Glad you enjoy them! I know you can view some element of that in the trip computers (From Start and From Reset) But not sure about total mileage. It could be that because it’s classed as one drivetrain it’ll only have history of the one mileage or in this case km. I’d suggest getting in contact with Mercedes, they might know the exact answer!

Hi Shankar, Haven’t heard of the navigation bit not staying in the instrument cluster. I’m sure it’s meant to stay there but I haven’t done it in a while unless it’s changed since I last tried it. The orientation is an easy one when you’re on the map, just press your wheel in (the one in the middle of the car you use to control the screen) and it’ll come up with a menu on the screen where you can nudge the wheel up / down. If I remember you’ll want to nudge up to the orientation options and select one of those. Most cars arrive factory set at North up, I personally prefer 2D or 3D. Hope that helps!

We recently got the new C-class, and my traffic light view isn't working - i'm not too bothered but just worried it might mean something else isn't quite right. Hey Capuchin, thank you! I think that tech uses Augmented Reality and sadly not all cars have it as it is quite rare. If you can see it then I believe you should have it but I’d double check with your local Mercedes and they should be able to check it out for you 🤓

Great presentation , however I was wondering if you can suggest if I can change a GLE ‘s allow wheels of 20 inch to a 21 or 22 inch Mercedes original alloy wheels without having air suspension installed in the vehicle . Thx.

Hey Arshad, I’ve been advised in the past to double and triple check if you’re considering doing something like that. Of course the suspension set up, but your fuel efficiency and emissions may take a hit too so bear this in mind. You’ll have to get a dealership to advise what the best course of action is and what options to consider. Hope that helps!

Hi Mike, All Mercedes-Benz will auto tune their DAB radios as you travel round the country etc. So you should be able to see the station you need right next to it. Hope that answers your question!

Thanks Phil! I’ve seen that sometimes when using 3rd party apps like Spotify. As it runs solely off of your phone, previously when I have closed the app and relaunched it, it appears again.

Hey SDV Shaunak, No it does work but if you’re like me it might not work. It’s designed in newer cars to move the seat so you can get in and out easier. However I’m 6ft 2” so it doesn’t do anything for me. It will however move if the seat was further forward and subsequently will move back to help you get out. It can depend on some models though, in some selected cars it will only move the backrest where as some others also move the steering wheel.

Hi Ahmed, it doesn’t work that way unfortunately. Internet is designed to be like your router at home, it sends internet out to your devices not the other way round. So basically your car acts like a router beaming internet to tablets and phones etc Hope that makes sense!

Hi Ahmed, no it’s built in and is more likely an e-sim. It cannot be changed to protect against hacking etc.

If you’re wanting to broadcast internet out from the car, in most instances, it’s cheaper to just use your phone and set that up as a hotspot (as long as your network allows)

Thank you for such a great 'idiots guide' - really useful, I love this App. That said it is on on my iPhone and is constantly saying the driver's window is open - and it isn't. It also says last updated 18 hours ago - but I have driven the car today so can't understand why it hasn't updated. I can't find any hints that tell me how to do it manually from the phone, so guess I can't. The window thing is really annoying as I have to keep going outside to make sure the windows are closed so it is becoming a nuisance rather than an asset. Hey Shirley, no problem! 🤓 that’s strange with your window though...I would speak with your local dealership, it might need to be adjusted just ever so slightly. I know the app will classify your windows as being “open” even if it’s down like a centimetre. Hopefully they can sort it for you!
