'It's old fashion, etc etc etc' She has a fantastic voice and a fantastic talent. If some people want to complain about it being 'gimmicky', then open your ears and really hear her talent. If you still don't like it, then it's your right. But to whine here about NPR and Tiny Desk not 'being on the edge', go define it and then make your own videos if you feel 'the edge' is not being represented. The rest of us can just sit back and enjoy this wonderful music.

Artisankat, I am amazed at her talent, the voice, the body movements and face expression and since she wrote these songs her songwriting talents as well. I have scanned You Tube to watch her best videos. I have found this incredible performance which I like to share with you. The last song Darkness at Noon is unreal how she ends it. I totally agree with your comments. kzbin.info/www/bejne/fqu9dX6Jhc59f5o

First thing I've seen on the Internet this Sunday morning, and I must say that with her singing and my hazelnut coffee, I am in true #BLISS!! Thank you @NPRMUSIC and keep 'em coming! I especially love the ending when she sings Happy Birthday to the guitarist!! That shows a lot about the type of person she is....beautiful through and through! So very glad that I gave it a listen/view, which I initially wasn't going to, since I was in search of different genre of music this morning!! What a great addition, I now have to my music collection!! #STOKED!!

SO much! I was listening to this on a playlist while studying and had to go open the tab to see who was singing because I couldn't stop picturing 50s Disney movie princesses, Aurora from Sleeping Beauty (1959) is right on the memory money, thank you for placing it for me! That soft slow vibrato is so distinctive and beautiful, I wonder how much of a difference the old school RCA ribbon mic makes to the feeling of being transported in time? I wish I could hear a side by side comparison with a modern mic...
