Finally, after watching this video for many years, I had to pleasure to see him live in Glasgow this past weekend. It was GREAT, to say the least. His voice was so powerful, he was super nice with the public and even came down from the stage, and walked with the public while singing, he didn't miss a single tone, and he played pretty much every instrument. I would dare to say that he's one of the best and most talented artist alive. He is unbelievable.

i saw Kristian perform for the first time after 2 years in August of 2021 due to the pandemic in Sweden, Dalarna, rättvik in Swedens most beautiful outdoors concert hall (Dalhalla, look it up) deep in to the forrest. My girlfriend burst into tears the second he took the stage and the rest of the evening was really magical, with the first time hearing Kristian sing in swedish. He opened the consert with a string picking rendition of the gardner and closed it with a cover of I will always love you if im not misstaken, which was a running theme during the evening, he expressed a lot of love to the audience many times, i think he realized he was on home turf when he mentioned a supermarket in his home town of Borlänge and people cheered, a trip i will look back to for the rest of my life as being perfect. All thanks to Kristian himself, one of Swedens best and most underappreciated artists of all time, he really doesnt get the recognition he deserves over here... that all for me, thanks T

And "In everyday life, it's hard to look people in the eyes" so true. Hey I need to know, how the fuck does he get his guitar to sound so twangy? What do you think? See 00:21 and you'll know what I mean. It sounds like a shrapnel blizzard, anyone got any theories?
@andreacaccese10 жыл бұрын
mikebiketrike I'' say something like thicker string gauge than usual, maybe a brand like elixir and relatively low action on the neck should get you in the ball park :-) the dynamic microphone he uses on the guitar is also responsible for that kind of "sharp" sound on the guitar sound. Try a SM-57 on the guitar !
@TheSkoobey10 жыл бұрын
I know he doesn't have one above, but a steel guitar should really give a good sound too. Very "twangy" tones to them because of the body.
@taylorplesh658710 жыл бұрын
mikebiketrike He strums very hard and has a capo on for most songs which lowers the strings further up the fret board. that makes the buzz and ads an additional "twang" from stumming so hard. he also plays OM or OO style gutiars whose small bodies lend to that sound as well. ALSO he tunes his guitar DADGBD for most songs (tuning up)

+Tiffany R +Tiffany R No, I don't think he does. He's just Swedish haha. Social interaction in Sweden is super limited, and also this was filmed not very far into his solo career. He was used to having a band behind him and jumping/climbing around when he was in The Montezumas. So his uncomfortableness, I guess you could say, comes from a combination of those two things. If you watch shows and interviews of him now, he's MUCH more comfortable and personable- he even cracks a few jokes here and there.

Sometimes the sign of a new artist is they tend to rush their songs. Either from inexperience, anxiety, fear people don't want to listen to their songs, etc. He's really pumping up the pace on these songs and it's interesting when you compare him to now, 7 years later. Even he admitted he is a lot more confident and takes his time when playing, that he is a lot more mellow when it comes to performing. Still sounds good, but once he became a lot more experienced and comfortable his music really resonates with his audience even more

@tylergaylord8 жыл бұрын
fl4grant That's the beauty of music, its all different to others. For me though, he has able to sharply intertwine his levels, being able to slow down or quite a performance to almost a whisper while keeping his power and emotion. Or he can speed it up and attack with ferocity without ever being overbearing and off tune. I just saw him live a couple weeks ago, he is a master at controlling not only his instruments, or the instruments of the band, but the audience as an instrument. He walked out and put his finger to his mouth and had us be very quite for the first few songs. So we all tuned in with him, and then he lead us along the journey with him so there was no senseless noise like at some concerts, instead we were all tuned into the same frequency. I have never seen someone control an audience so well. So seeing him, after all this time, get better and better at mastering all aspects of music is breathtaking. And yet, after all this time, it still sounds fresh and still sounds raw. It's beautiful

He’s got it all; voice, guitar skillz, and poetic abilities. I love everything he sings.

Other than the fact that he's a great guitarist and has an interesting voice, I love how in every performance he gets so into it even though he's the only playing.

you guys imagine this guy in sweden, located in a small folkshouse getting ready for a smaller gig. we're about 30 people in there, there for the sake of listening to the softening music he creates with his person. he's not just singing and playing the guitarr, he's using his whole body to produce something unique, something very hard find today amongst the music industry. we got to speak to him in person afterwards.. and i even got to hold his guitarr for a few secs :) t'was a blast, i tellyou

Mind is blown. This guy is awesome! Very twisted songwriting on "The Gardener" - kind of reminds me of Lyle Lovett's writing on his "I Love Everybody" album haha- which is where he stuck his weird stuff. Love it though!
