These songs still feel relevant and new to me, so it's weird to think that this was 2012. That first song _(Same Love)_ was a really bold thing to do at the time, as we were still 3 years (!) away from marriage equality. Obviously nobody can say how much influence any one event had on the eventual outcome, but stuff like that is how society moves forward - you and defend the things that need defending and don't back down. Good for Macklemore, Ryan Lewis, and everyone involved in the song.

That trumpet player is using a plastic mouthpiece. First time I've seen a pro do that

His live concerts are pure magical fun. Got to see him when he was touring with Kesha and he knocked it out the park. He is worth every penny for a ticket to see him live.

Could not agree more! I’d go see him again in a heartbeat.

I got also got to see him with Kesha. The concert was delayed due to a thunderstorm and when he started singing Same Love a rainbow appeared over the concert venue.

Sadly, that age is pretty much behind us being that we are in such a digital age and you can recreate that sound with computers.

Oh my, he is so Seattle geeky. It doesn’t show in the “official” videos or onstage, but in this environment, he reminds me of all the people I admired growing up who weren’t afraid to put it out there.
