Ngl I had no clue Ne-Yo wrote those songs. I already thought he was goated for So Sick, Miss Independent, Closer and his other classics but the fact that he also wrote Irreplaceable and Let Me Love You, two of the best R&B songs of the 2000's, completely changes my view of him.

And don't miss RIhanna's "Take a Bow", another great song that hit the charts in the 2000s and is an R&B classic. Ne-Yo is so underrated! A musical genius. Definitely one of the best NPR performances worth watching on repeat!

Actually in so sick, sexy love and others, it's piano that is used., but since both hit strings to produce sound, harp was a very clever adaptation if we're planning a tiny desk concert. The higher notes sound more sutil and comfortable 😊

Could be because these concerts are up close and personal. They are not designed to reach a massive amount of people in a huge place, so they don’t have the reverb from all the high volume speakers and other digital equipment and electronics needed for big concerts and from the loud sounds and sound vibrations of screaming fans in the mix of the sounds of the music. Just a guess.

Yes, yes and the guitarist. In fact, the whole band was laying down their groove like gravy. And when he introduced the band, I immediately thought, why didn’t he introduce the guitarist. I am glad he realized and came back to give him his intro and props. Ne-Yo, you appeared a little nervous in this small up close and personal setting. 😊 Great job!

R&B was good for many decades up until 2010. I've always said that things went downhill fast in the 2010s and then trash rap started becoming more mainstream and R&B essentially became obsolete.
