It's really not that crazy haha. In fact it's prettyjjanky and not fleshed out at all. He will frequently glitch into the pillars after jumping onto them and them respawn nearby. Would be cool to see Fromsoft make more interactive environments in their bossfights (and I dont just mean something simple like breakable tombstones in the Gascoigne fight or Maliketh's pillar jumping)

He stayed loyal to the ideal, defending Leyndell despite his exile, and went on to fulfill duty as lord of Leyndell without hesitation or reluctance despite having no sane reason to continue in that duty when every other demigod was going mad and turning traitor against his mother. Like his father, he founded an order of knights specifically to act as an extension of his will and protect the Erdtree's interests, and like his father he gave his last full measure of devotion at the base of the Erdtree. So, yeah. Godfrey holding Morgott as he dusts away makes sense. Definitely daddy's boy. I'm sure Mohg still gets a stocking around Christmas, but he did try and found a new religion and have bloodplay bedroom times with his underage twink half-brother. So... probably not the favorite son.

I also like how the dragonkin soldier seems almost pitiful at first when it falls, but you can still make out its golden helmet and emblazoned red and blue cape, so you wait for it to stand up, expecting a crestfallen yet noble warrior, only to be met with the sight of... a hole. The same cavity upon its chest that the slave trolls you find everywhere have. Hell, its worse than the trolls, its legs dont even work, like those failed albanurics. A pitiful, vile little thing. Then, second phase comes around and he pulls out the badass ice lightning, which pretty much shows that bro got that dawg in him, my bad Dragonkin Soldier, you a real one. Edit: Plus, you can mistake the coverings on his arms and legs at first for gold plating in the lighting, but as you approach, you quickly realize they are old, sickly, pus covered bandages, haphazardly wrapped around his body like a dying patient. Amazing misdirection, or perhaps I need to seek an optometrist,

3:35 another cool thing about the high road cave is that it directly bellow the bridge to the tower where you obtain godricks great rune. on that same bridge you can see a bunch of the golems that were on that very same bridge that you have to fight to get to the tower. so it could hypothesized that it’s pieces of the bridge that have fallen along with a golem. it tells this really interesting and was my favorite cave.

Surprised one very underrated boss arenas got left out. Windmill village was my first encounter with the godskins and by god the buildup is fantastic. Creepy atmosphere of the village, the climb giving you upward perspective making this village seem big and imposing and finally be met with a crazed psycho these villagers worship. 10/10 arena for me.

Radagon's Doggo can also get caught up on the orb hanging from the middle of the ceiling when he does his big leaping move which will cause its aim to be off, its not super common but it really irks me when part of the room's geometry messes up the choreography of a boss.

The castle Morne gate is clearly a gate of meaning rather than practicality. In medieval times archways often were constructed to represent some kind of victory or conquest, so having one at the end of the castle makes sense to me that it would be built by them for symolism, much like the gate before the scadutree.

A minor detail about Godrick's arena that you missed is that there are massive claw marks in the walls, presumably made by the Stormhawk King. I really like how it subtly reinforces the lore, and it gives scale to just how large and powerful the Storm King was.

I love and agree that all the major remembrance bosses got high ranks ❤. Also the intro cutscene to Godfrey hints at him actually caring about his Omen children, and from what we know of Marika, she was likely responsible for the whole tragedy part. Also, Godfrey was exiled - slight difference to him leaving - which is also part of Marika's machinations. So he likely didn't have any choice in how he did things or who all he could take with him.

I just wish Radahn's arena was about two thirds of what it is. It's ridiculously massive. I rarely used the outskirts / cliffside part, and when I finally managed to kill him, I had to search for the grace for about a full minute. And then it's another long ass ride if you want to enter the catacomb. Good for testing out stuff tho. Or chilling and enjoying the view.

It's to large to have any board meetings or anything you can't hear person accross from you unless they yell. Hot take: I kinda dislike Elden Rings main boss arenas. Margit, Godrick and phase 1 Rennala had peak arenas with interesting terrain which influences and enhances the fight itself but after those three it pretty much went down hill. Visually ER probably has the prettiest and best looking arenas in the whole series but they’re just... flat. Every arena feels the same and that way they also look kind of boxy and videogamey. I get that it’s really fitting for bosses like phase 2 Rennala but in my opinion they overdid it by giving it to too many bosses. It’s so fun to get an fair advantage over the boss by using the environment which sadly gets lost with those arenas. Remember in Demons souls, DS1-3 and bloodborne where all the arenas had some special terrain with them? Just a staircase like with Ludwig (or Mohg) would be enough to make it more interesting. Remember Gael? The arguably best boss they ever made? Yeah his arena isn’t flat so you can use you surroundings to use to your advantage or disadvantage and also navigate his AOEs. Dragonslayer Armor, Martyr Logarius, Orphan of Kos, Isshin, Taurus Demon etc. Some of them might not as memorable as Godfrey the first Elden Lord but their arenas surely were. You could argue there aren’t even that many arenas like that but I also count battlegrounds like both Lorettas for example where it’s basically a flat arena with extra steps. Imagine the ancestral spirit being your first boss. You’re amazed by this huge open field. It’s just you and the boss. What a great experience. But then imagine already having fought like 5-6 bosses before that use the exact same flat field. Maybe some bumps in the ground but basically just an open field. At that point you can’t really appreciate the the beauty of the open arena anymore. It’s just ”oh, again.. cool.“. Open and flat arenas should be saved for really big battles like Rennala or the final boss. Not every other boss. At least that’s how see it. I think the problem lays in the AOE attacks Elden Ring bosses tend to use which wouldn’t work that well without a flat ground but idk. There are also two arenas in ER I particularly dislike that doesn’t have something to do with the terrain: Maliketh. The fight would’ve been so much better if the pillars wouldn’t extend to the ground so he doesn’t get stuck being them all the time. At least for me the arena makes the boss looks a bit janky and really unpredictable. Don’t get me wrong, him interacting with the arena is amazing but that’s only with the upper sections of the pillars. The lower parts are what’s annoying me. Without the pillars it would just be a flat arena again so the solution might be to rework malikeths AI instead but you know what I mean. Rellana. Why do we fight such an advanced and complex boss in a gray pool in an alleyway? She also just awkwardly stands there before we walk in. At least give her a chair lmao. It’s just gray doesn’t have good lighting. I fought her once when it rained and it immediately looked way better. Although I have to say the arena of the DLC final boss might be my favorite in the entire series. At least visually.

It makes me so happy that two of my favorite bosses in the game, Rennala and the Elden Beast, got 10s for their boss arenas: how could they not!? Everything is better when you're fighting a magical being on a lake in space. Elden Ring as a whole just has so much in terms of spectacle and that's why it's my favorite From game. And tomorrow, it's going to get even better.

So Makar's is meant for space and balance opportunity for the player against his attacks. But Makar himself is there because it's the "coward's passage" that Godrick used to Altus because he lacked the remaining half of the medallion kept by Radahn. Radahn had been challenging Godrick and Godrick his from Radahn and his challenges as more of an opportunist at best. Godrick would appeal his word after the dragon aspiring knights. Knight of dragon communion also had a tendency to become drakes themselves from over indulgence but their wings would be useless as they became Wyrms. Rather than hunting his own dragons, Godrick had one brought to him. And he would only duel the rotting girl, Malenia only to lose and lick her boots. Godrick is the image of a sorry individual who takes opportunities he sees as low hanging fruit.

Rick has the best lore in all of elden ring, the reason he's sealed in that cave is from his own self exile after surviving the attack of Stormveil castle when Malenia attacked. Rick stood there, great rune in hand as he walked away from the crumbling fortress, putting Godrick in charge knowing that he was to blame for incident anyway, the façade of putting Godrick in charge was so Godrick can meet his end. Those in cave with Rick, are his most trusted few. Although he may lack his great rune, the truth is that Rick trains us so we can take down Godrick. With each tarnished who falls down the hole, Rick is there to revive his soldiers so that we may learn. To say Rick is a random soldier is an insult to all who have braved that cave. We demand respect on Rick's name, an apology, and the best icecream money can buy! Good day to you, Mister Sanity! (cant believe I typed this damn thing, I feel sick doing things like this too. He is obviously okay with Crucible type beings as he fights with an army of Crucible Knights and they (omens)are literally described as being "Touched By The Crucible" ??? Imagining Morgott and Mohg growing up as wandering warriors with their barbarian dad might have been cool, they wouldn't have been as strong, but would probably been used as two fighters WITH him during the fight, like General Niall with his two knights.
