I used my Nreal Airs to get through TSA and the airport as a whole during the holidays and it was fantastic; the Samsung Dex app on my S22 ultra really makes screen mirroring fantastic. The app is terrible though, and I hope you guys seriously bring it up to par in the next couple of months. The Nreal Airs have so much to offer that is completely hamstrung by the Nebula app.

@@XREAL_Global please, please release an app for steam to allow 3 dof for the screen mirroring while using steam deck. As you know many people are buying this product for use with the deck, and to have the ability to have the screen set in place and able to move your head around without it fixed to your face would be much appreciated and would also be beneficial for the comfort 😊 I own a pair and love them, but this would bring them from an overall 7.0 rating to an easy 10 while using my deck. I'm really excited to see devices like these finally becoming semi affordable to the average consumer. I was very tempted to pick up a pair, however the small field of view and the lack of 3dof when playing games is a deal breaker for me. Hopefully this will be addressed in future revisions. I would love to see multiple size options, like Apple have with their watches. I have a small head, and adult glasses pretty much never fit me. Even with different nose pieces, I'm not confident that I could use a one size fits all pair of glasses without excessive light bleed from the sides.

Great review! I really love the concept. And I could live with the dongle mess, that’s not their fault, but if the screen moves with your head when using it as a external monitor for a laptop, that must be super annoying. Honestly I watched a bunch of reviews on these glasses. Even some from bigger tech channels but this was the only actual review that answered every question I had plus some I didn’t know I needed like it being fixed unless you use the app. That alone is a deal breaker I’d like to see a bigger field of view and for them to work on the tech a bit more adding the gyro without the app making the screen clearer and working on battery or a way to power it while using devices. I’d also like to see a slimmer frame but I’ll expect everything else and the size to stay the same.

Looks cool. Would be a great space saving solution to computer monitors. Having a setting to anchor the display to a specific point (so if I look away the screen disappears) would be the next big step toward this technology. We are busy people and need to look around or talk to people every once in a while... And it would help people who get motion sickness easily. Keep in mind, if replacing monitors or TV's is the route advertising would like to go, a longer cord (or wireless option) will be needed. Cool product so far. Love the concept of a HUD rather than VR.

God. We gotta find a way to get rid of birdbowl optics. It thickens the glasses wayyyy too much, maybe some sensors to track the eye with like eye tracking tech we got, while displaying the image on an see-through oled panel relative to the eyes x and y coordinates on the screen. But then processing and battery would be an issue. We need more efficient electronics. We gotta step up our battery game 😤

No lie, I've thought about eventually getting something like this just as a space saving measure. Something like this seems like a great alternative to, say, trying to fit a massive TV or monitor into a small room. That said, I'm skeptical about how well they'd work with my weird-o eyes, so I'm waiting 'til I eventually get a chance to try something like this out in-person before I get excited about it.

"The Metaverse is popular as a concept" No it isn't...Almost NO ONE wants the Metaverse. The only people who are excited about it are executives who see dollar signs, and the crypto/web3/NFT bros who have convinced them. No one with even the slightest understanding of the scam wants that garbage. Most game developers have taken a strongly negative stance. The internet rages every time some greedy publisher leaks a letter from executives who want to shoe-horn this garbage into everything. Even Meta/Facebook EMPLOYEES don't want it. If the company spearheading this atrocity can't even get it's own employees to use their platform by MANDATING it company wide...then who exactly do you think actually wants this? No one who matters.

i was at first blown away by how amazing these glasses seemed for my specific wants, but after many videos and other light research i have to say im not so sure. if the nebula app would allow end users like myself to add apps to ut, maybe even modify the base experience, maybe.. a very slim maybe tinkerers could adopt and create their own home baked gyro modifications? (like janky hardware modules stuck on top of the frames, and self built software uploaded to the users devices.) even there as i say it, i would love to be one of those crazy people, but realistically i doubt i would even have the patience! even still, if not these, i wonder if something similar but with a more open source/modder friendly product could exist! (i hold out hope) then again a next gen version would be even more exciting. of all the products (admittedly only a handful) ive seen so far, nreal and the nebula thing seem to be the most promising (to me at least) platform that maybe might do well or stick around in the future (i hope) i would love to see something like the android/google app store built into the glasses, imagining an open marketplace of sorts could really inspire some creators to adopt the tech even in its infancy imo!

It's a shame that USB-C-Alt-mode means you have no other devices. All the usb-c pins are used for power + displayport. Yes, you can split it into power delivery and the displayport signal, but the moment you think you can use a usb-c hub or something, you are not using displayport-alt-mode anymore and it's out of luck for devices like this. I have an external 14" lenovo monitor that has usb-c- power passthrough and uses altmode. Then a bluetooth keyboard + mouse (or controller) and I have a full setup. But apparently the 'static screen' without gyros is a dealbreaker to use it as a 'regular external screen' for all kinds of devices :(.

How close are we to a simple wireless, windowed screen-mirror for Android phones with direct vision to the outside world...? It sounds like walking around with birdbath-type optics would result in bumping into lampposts during everyday wear! Use case: I'm looking at becoming a freelance writer, but I tend to think with my feet - I come up with most article ideas while walking about (I live close enough to my day-job to walk to and from town every day), and it would be nice to have the ability to just type what I think of _while I'm walking to work_ rather than trying to remember what I came up with all day until I get home that night. I thought I could learn to use one of those EMG armbands for the typing (drumming my fingers against my leg) as I walk, if I can only get a usable screen-mirror for my phone. I can use the Android version of MSWord while my phone stays in my pocket and use the armband-keyboard as a virtual input device, but I'd need to be able to view the phone in my peripheral vision while still being aware of my surroundings... such as other pedestrians, cars and crossing lights! (For the same reason, I would probably also use an external bone-conduction headset for audio rather than the included open-ear speakers - why don't more AR glasses use these instead of atmospheric speakers which would drown out external sounds? They usually have chunky arm-units which press into the temples anyway, so why not just add some conduction membranes, perhaps on flexible arms to ensure good contact? Isn't it dangerous to use AR as intended when not only your vision but also your hearing is impaired? I'm all for total immersion, but that's what _VR_ is supposed to be for - _AR_ is supposed to facilitate everyday interactions with the _addition_ of new functionality... sorry, rant over!) I am well aware that such a setup would not be cheap - it'd cost a pretty penny for the glasses even if they existed, plus the armband and a decent-spec phone with a strong battery life, and (let's face it) the form-factor of wirelessly independent AR glasses would have to include their own battery pack which would increase the weight and the bulk. Plus, I'd need a whole side table with a multiple-port charging dock devoted to the rig at the end of each day and probably wouldn't get a full 8 hours out of it at the best of times. But this is the dream - how close woud you say we are to me being able to walk down the road and tap my leg to write an article which appears in front of my eyes without falling down a cartoon manhole?

Ugh thank you. I've been trying to find any videos that will give like an actual impression of what the display will look like. Can I get that that's probably difficult to do because you're filming a reflection of an LED display. It's just like... there's a lot going on. But you figured it out and it looks pretty good from what I can tell.

I have these and they're pretty good for vibing in bed watching a movie there's one problem with them though they have built-in speakers so sometimes when you want to use your better Bluetooth speakers it will reconnect back to the built-in speakers and completely eat your sound and not let you change it back so you have to use the worse open air speakers instead of your Bluetooth headphones

It's only clunky if you make it clunky.. just use it simply.. connect it to a usb c device and mirror the screen. With apple devices its plug and play if it has usb c.. Big movie screen anywhere you want to go and you can adjust it to be transparent or really dark. big screen wherever you want.. also I paid 40 dollars for my lenses from Alibaba. Walking out of the house its a lot nicer to watch content on these screens than it is looking down at your phone. I don't need the stationary monitor.. I have actual monitors for multiple monitors.. but on the go big screen without much to carry.. Game changer.

I'll wait for the next generation. I think this has a lot of potential, but what I see in this product is the "Tony Stark" glasses, and this isn't quite there yet. I'd like a device that's fashionable, that I can pair with my phone and easily gain all the benefits AR brings to the table like real time translation, video, and Mixed Reality. The fact that you can't naturally wear these during a conversation is a big turn off. It's a great first attempt, but not worth the investment for me just yet.

This company is pure deception with exaggerated marketing, to use the glasses you need a compatible, high-end smartphone, and the screen on all the time. The image displayed on the glasses is similar to having a 6-inch smartphone 20cm from your eyes. The glasses get very hot, even heating up the forehead (if you separate the glasses from your face, they are turned off by the proximity sensor.) Really, it is marketing, pure marketing to sell a product that we don't even need and that will make you feel frustrated. most of the time.

So the details and title are correct, but in the video, you've confused the air and the light. You may want to edit in a note to address this as it could be extremely confusing for people who read the title then watch the video.

This seems to me the modern way of doing business where you release a product that isn’t quite ready for market so you can highlight potential for future iterations and attract potential investors. While the potential cannot be denied, the price needs to reflect you’re a glorified beta tester that’s paying for the privilege.

nreal air and rokid air have AR modes on android they are AR displays! but they are also good "birdbath optics" images both are 1080p 50-55 degree fov (not 46 i measured it) nreal are less comfortable but have prescriptions. they are both 100% AR glasses. you can see the world around you easy and see AR contents overlayed. rokid airs are far more comfurtable. and rokid have a adapter to alow you to charge your phone and power your glasses from a external battery at the same time. rokid have focus lens ipd adjustment can happen in AR mode. i sugest you get a pair of rokid
