The NREMT exam is a cognitive exam that students must pass in order to gain national EMS certification. This NREMT certification allows the student to now apply to become licensed in their state. The NREMT exam is broken up into 5 main sections that you must study in order to pass the NREMT exam.
I have personally worked with tens of thousands EMS students over the years helping them pass their NREMT exam and this is what I have learned working with them.
I wanted to create a video showing you the biggest mistakes students make studying for the NREMT exam. By the way this includes every level of certification: EMR, EMT, AEMT and Paramedic.

I actually got an above passing for cardiology and trauma my first attempt last month. Had near passing on medical an OB and below passing on airway and freaking operations?? That was me! I started in December of last year and knew nothing going in. If you know absolutely nothing about the human body, it might be a lot but it really is pretty basic info (to become and EMT, I mean). I am so excited to keep learning and look forward to this career, so I recommend it!

Do you always have to have an OPA or NPA when ventilating the pt??

if the airway is patent by itself with a head tilt chin lift then no.

Usually when ventilating ur patient isn’t gonna be able to protect there own airway at that point bc there incapacitated most likely. This is why we need the opa or npa
