Definitely agree…I’m an old medic…it sort of worked this way long ago…you just added skills over time…but it varied from state to state (no NREMT anything in my day) I got my BSN and worked emergency and trauma…and was working on my np till I was in an accident…had to leave EMS…and emergency nursing due to losing my right leg and serious nerve damage to my left hand…now I’m working on my neuroscience nurse practitioner…but I think you’re right…EMT should include IV skills and some ALS medications and medic should be at least a two year degree…perhaps a paramedic practitioner as a 6 year degree with independence from OLMC … kind of like they have in the UK…

Oh my fucking God so that’s what they’re going to do to me when my veins finally stopped working?!??!!!???!!! Why can’t they just go on my foot or somewhere else? I ruined my veins in my arms when I was a drug addict. I got off Oct 2017 and THEY STILL HAVEN’T CAME BACK. The doctor lied who told me they’d come back

I was hit by a 2x over the limit 17 yr old drunk boy who was driving over 70 mph and hit me w/o attempting to slow down. I was trapped by his car and my center console and had many life threatening injuries including what this video explains. I needed chest tubes for each lung and one lung required another chest tube. My severely broken ribs had punctured and lacerated many organs and other structures.

Do the GE classes before starting school it prepares you for the biology concepts and academic rigor. Then graduate with the degree.

Pretty sure the selected rhythm was s delayed input from the simulator. That is why he kept saying wait, and then about the 7 second mark it went to consistent SVT.

Hey paramedic coach! I’ll make this short and simple! I purchased the video vault on my very last week of EMT school as i was struggling and scared for the final . i bought it and passed, and i studied it every day after that and just last week i passed my NREMT 1st try!!! I always looked at “passing first try” is way too hard, and i did it. Thank you paramedic coach for devoting your life to helping students pass that national registry and starting their life long careers!

I was a Paramedic in Florida ( Daytona Beach) For 10 years, then I got some very strange symptoms, actually thought I might die, so My license expired. I ended up getting better, but now I have to go all the way back to EMT school, so that I can go back to paramedic school. This is going to suck. 😞

Pneumothorax?
@Rhettnorris095 күн бұрын
Lungs having trouble inflating because air leaking into them. Most likely from a blunt or penetrating injury.
@NicholasLuna-sm4eb5 күн бұрын
@@Rhettnorris09 so a decompression needle would be best right or would you use a vented chest seal?
@franciscoh62105 күн бұрын
@@NicholasLuna-sm4eb For any open penetrating chest wound, an occlusive dressing or vented chest seal is used to cover said wound to prevent air from sucking in. Whenever air has already been leaking into the pleural space, it would cause the lung to collapse and not oxygenate blood. In this scenario you would use a decompression needle. Chest seal prevents air from going in thru a open chest wound, needle decompression removes air from pleural space in emergency situations aka pneumothorax.

Dude, I'm in EMT school right now and this cleared up lung sounds for me. We've not really gone into Crackles = CHF/Pneumonia, but rather CHF = crackles. This made it super confusing and difficult to remember what is what and when. I'm just going to note down everything from here as a cheat sheet

Although this has been posted 3yrs it really cleared my congested mind. This really helped in so many ways. Especially after taking a 5wk EMT course.
