As I was a student in Paris for fine art for one year(2022-23), during school time I didn't find the problem but suddenly after completing the course within a week I couldn't sleep properly. I thought it was because of missing my son being a mother. I came to Paris with a plan for settlement with my family. After continuously getting a wake up in the middle of the night, realized something is a big problem going with me. I lost weight too and I lost enjoyment in the city of light. I didn't enjoy the pleasant weather and beautiful historical building in Paris. Merely one thing getting in my mind is the memories of my birthplace, my schooling, and my relatives (previously I don't like them too much but after meeting people from internationally I find Indian people are more kind, loving, and caring, and more cultured), my family and friends. Then, I thought How will my son adjust to these different environments, where he took birth in Noida, where at age of 7 he has 20 friends in society and many activities (basketball, swimming, skating, etc under one roof). And, In Paris, it's really difficult to get such a good society with these activities. And as part of the Income and expense ratio, it's nothing compared to India, where is a cheap living cost with good earnings and luxurious life. I finished my course on 16 December 2022 and today is 5 Feb 2023, I booked a flight ticket to back India for 6 February 2023. For a job in Paris, it's no big deal, I got three company responses in one month of searching (January 2023). After critical thinking and rationally I concluded that India is full of happiness and an easy country, which might be the reason because of our birth and being brought up. I am so happy that I am going back to my family and friends ❤️.

Hi sir, I recently came across your channel. Your advice is so helpful and rare to find. I’m living in the gulf for the last 7 years and I still don’t feel part of it. There are so many Indians here but unfortunately they are all divided based on state and language. Even the social clubs here are according to state. Bhai aapke saare points ekdum correct hai. I liked the social integration point. I am in US from past 15 years and yahan par ye insecurity rehti hai ki aap kisi ko offend na kar do kuch bol kar. Kyonki hangout same group ke saath karna hai aur koi option bhi nahi hai. I miss jab mai india me apne friends ke saath kuch bhi majak kar leta tha aur woh bura maane to char gaali deke manaa bhi leta tha. 😀

very nice video. According to me, India transformed itself every decade. 1990 - 2000 : LPG reforms. color TV, limca, DDLJ, 24x7 news, VCR etc. 2000 - 2010 : house prices increase 5x. Concept of gated societies started in metros. Club house, pool, gym, etc. 20 hours electricity everyday. multiplexes, visible improvement in roads. 2010 - 2020 : expansion of gated townships in tier 2 and tier 3 cities (including my grandfather's village of vidisha - the most backward district of MP). Row houses with modular kitchen, concrete roads (inside township), common amenties. 2020 - 2030 : lots of airports, expressways, EVs, solar on every home. Most middle class will shift to gated communities. 40 story towers in metros and small row houses and apartments in cities like bhopal, jaipur, etc. VIsible improvement in quality of life for each decade. The aspirations for those who went in 1990 would be very different for a upper middle class boy today who has everything - AC in room / car / eating out with friends / etc. back then 24x7 electricity and good roads was a big selling point to go to west. Now apart from money, why should anyone move to west if they get same salary ?

The bottom line is if you are searching for happiness it will come from inside not outside. If you are an unhappy soul you will find something in home or foreign country to keep you unhappy. Just accept the fact that there will be pros and cons to both sides. Do the risk assessment and then take your decision. Have the courage or build the courage to back your decision whatever you decide. If you cannot do that then it is a problem.

It has been 3 years in Canada. The WINTER season is going on here. Every day I get up with severe depression. A monotonous lifestyle is kind of killing me. I am less motivated to do something, i felt like my energy is draining as days pass on. Living without family, and friends, and not attending festivals is equals to self-destruction..I felt like as a human I am losing my value for some extra dollars. Yes i have to go back to my roots where life exists

That's your misunderstanding. What you call draining energy is because quite possible the daily routine of discipline is not there.

But for that one needs discipline. I wake up at 3:30AM everyday, brush teeth, shower, pray, in a day do 10 miles walk, clean my own house, pay all my bills, I have no debt anymore I have professional good paying job and I also have a business and starting another business. Now I travel whenever i want where I want without any worries. Time is your greatest asset.

Very eye opening video. I am out of India since 1991, really enjoyed my life, settled in UK, children grown up and started their careers. Now, we are really fed up with weather in UK. Suddenly my wife and I started missing India, friends, family, relatives etc. We have now decided that we will attend each and every function in India. How many times will you travel after a certain age.I have been doing this since last 45 years mumbai to uk..lekin aise lagta hai hum na idhar ke hai na udhar ke..its getting very very depressing here, The weather is such u dont feel like going even out for a walk either.There are no 24x 7 helpers here which after a certain age we really cannot do it ourselves..India is much better due to weather and social life..brings happiness with your body n heart.

Travel to India 3 times a year , most of the companies allows months of work from home 🏡.. kids in Europe have lot of holiday , atleast in France.. 6 weeks of school 2 weeks of holiday .. you can earn all your life so try to travel often to India.. sponsor your family , brothers and sisters to travel often during their vacation.. keep a deadline what's your financial goal .. India is the best country to live in mid 40's to old age .. work life balance is good outside India..

But living in Dubai is equally good as living in India. Too much happening here too ..lots of indians (expats) ....but yes weather part is still there , 3 months in year is very hot rest uae is awesome. And its very near to India... it takes only 3 hrs by plane to reach in India..... I generally go 3 to 4 times in a year to India. Education is also very good.....( from cbse to american every curriculum available) world class facilities, world class medical facilities, world class brands and many things r available. Guru ( hindu monk) also visit dubai because lots of devotees live here , they keep inviting them so we can take their darshan. Gurudwara, mandir , church everything is available..... Living in uae never lead u in depression.

Sorry mate, I just want to add another key perspective: the advantages of India, which you have added, are when person move to home city, if the person moves to any other big metro city which is far from the home city, all the same things are applicable. There is no difference if a person lives in Mumbai or Paris, if that person family is not from my Mumbai. In India, there are too many people who don't have friends. Social media has impacted the rules of life. Depression is increasing at a very fact pace. There are more than 30% people in India as well are depressed. India also has massive competition and job issues.

Another great video! Yes, there’s a glow on the face and a sort of nasha after returning from back home. At a small level this problem also exists for people when they move from a small city to a big city in India for work. I think there is one more point, recognization! Even a small accomplishment at work or in family can get you recognition in your family and friends. Sky is the limit to contribute towards your society. When you are abroad, those things don’t matter to other. If you’re driving a BMW so what? Even janitors drive a BMW in some cases. I am not saying it from a materialistic standpoint. There are people back home who can relish your accomplishment but not abroad. That’s the reason why NRI still talk so much about what they bought abroad.

The problem is the feeling of generation gap, alienation, boredom with routine life, and non Indianness. The married immigrants are hooked once the children start to go to public school. It is the children's education, the insurance companies, taxes, mortgages, and jobs that all demand sacrifice. This is how you are hoped to system with the false assumption of security and material culture. It is too late once you get old. Also, women tend to like Western freedom more than their husband. It is difficult for many to take decisive steps earlier in career and return to the home country In totality happiness is relative and if you are seeking comfort in materialism, it is short lived and not wholesome. .

Nobody asked you to leave your country or comeback. if you are not happy then it is just a consequence. If your mindset is not right then you wont be happy anywhere. Your happiness is exogenous but if you are driven and motivated then you will indeed find a way. As per my experience if you go abroad in your teenage then it will be easier to adapt. Do your own research i moved to florida from Pittsburgh because i followed my comfort than money.

What you said about US might be true but perspective about India have changed a lot except the warm weather. Most of the people are having smaller social circles and this is applicable in tier1 and tier 2 cities. This is my personal observation. People in Tier - 1 city live like US. They hardly attend any family functions and visit their hometowns. Nuclear families taking over and bond between cousins and extended families diminishing. Yes construction works keeps happening throughout the country but I am not sure how far you are excited to watch the construction sites in scorching heat. Gone are those days people were having grounds to play cricket, those all fields are encroached and tall buildings can be seen. To those who are thinking, must take opinions to their friends who left western countries and settled in India.

Which part of Delhi,I am also from Delhi born in Delhi and age 28 went to USA and was planning to go back but parents told me to stay in USA and I got married with Indian girls she born in India and migrated to Uk age 6 and western culture she came from Uk to USA 1985 and became citizens and I got married and now more then 30 years green card I am planning to back to India I used to be a senior engineer in Bmw analysis and use to work 12 hr a day next day same My wife I thought she is Indian but western culture and use to right name off the food and bread Cheating day one ,doesn’t want to add my name in insurance or bank account

The only thing we don't have is Indian derived food is everywhere, and life is much more spectacular here than India. Do travel, will open up your experience and knowledge

Marriages are what comes to mind when i think of moving to India. Too much pomp and show and chaos. Also, because of wedding processions, sometimes my husband and i used to reach home at 10 pm (stuck in traffic etc) This scares me. If i write 10 reasons to go back to India, my only reason will be parents, whom i also support financially, so will be difficult to extend a financial support to that extent. :(

I am here in USA for last 4 months .Have 2 kids but i feel like this was not good decision to come here at this stage of life where kids need good education and I found in public schools education levels are not like Indian schools..I am very worried about the education point of view ! Hello sir can u pls make videos about big kids like if u brought kids in 11 th or 12 th grade then still are they able to make good carriers n future in India because more of NRI are stuck they thought in USA higher study and job are muche easier then india and all adults stop each other and force everybody and say you are going to ruin and spoil kids future taking them to India that’s why most of them always gets scared for kids pls make this also clear..thank you

sir, thanks yeh videos banane ke liye. mera ek sawaal hai. mera ek dost hai jo US mein 10 saal rehne ke baad india return ho gaya aur abhi kaam dhaam sab chodke baitha hai, bolta hai kaafi kamaya hai aur ussi se zindagi chal jayegi. kya yeh possible hai? woh single hai . aur ek baat, woh doosre religions ki bohot burai karta hai. usko uske caste ko lekar bohot garv/pride dikhata hai. yeh banda pehle aisa nahi tha.. woh south indian hai, par metro city mein pala bada hai. kya yeh sahi hai ya galat? woh aisa kyu bann gaya?

Hello sir , need some advice !!! If anyone who is not sure that how life will unfold after moving to abroad , and bcoz of this if he/she is dropping the plan to move to foreign countries, what are all the other options for settling here in India itself, as employment rate is very low in India especially for those who have completed their studies from average colleges in India. In such situation should one go to abroad or should settle in India itself ?

Hi, I will say till you are 40-42 US/Canada is very good, you need to look out for health post 40 because without good health and job..USA is worst country..on kids I see major mistake desi parents make is to disconnect their kids from indian culture and mother language.. they get so involved within social media, gathering that they ignore kids and surrender them to laptop,games,mobile etc. , parents getting old and they are in need of kids support but I see many in US and Canada who easily ignore that citing kids wont adjust in india..in reality they themselves are not ready to move back..at the end..around 43-45 you start getting depressed watching kids glued to screen and lost all social connect.. so its best to keep kids close to culture and give them time ..

Thanks for your thoughts. My kids are 9 and 4 and I'm settled in US for past 10 years. I'm 42 now, I do think going back but the only dilemma i have are 1. If i plan to go back in next 2 years my elder kid will be in 6th grade. At this level, Indian education is going to be way tougher for her to cope because in US schools kids progress slowly from KG to 5th grade, has anyone faced the same situation and have some realistic suggestions? 2. Since kids are US Citizens, chances are that for Higher education they may come back to US. Doesn't that mean it will be back to square one?

Hi Pushkar, You are at the no returning point. Just carry on. Make life's journey in the US. Your daughter will get bullied in schools and also will lose her identity. I would not downgrade the US school system, having both kids in gifted and talented, kids in India doesn't even have the tools and supplies we have it here. Best.

There is no return. People are having themselves on that oned day we will return "rich} to India. I had cousins who departed the US years ago and now live in exile in Goa. Thay are similar to being under house arrest, since you cannot go anywhere amongst the mob. Return if you must....but be prepared to face the consequences!

I think this is a problem with all individuals, no matter what country you're in. I moved to Canada a couple of months back for the exact reasons that you say you miss. The chaos, mismanagement, pollution, lack of traffic sense, judgemental neighbors, and a mad rush to be first for everything because of a lack of resources compared to population - all these caused my depression in India. After achieving all my goals and attaining financial stability i moved to Canada because I realized that whatever you do, human life has no value and no respect in India.
