Either WCC in vegas or Align the NRL and Superleague GF’s on the same weekend. 2 week break then the retrospective team fly’s over for the WCC. As well as a structured International Tour. Like he said every 4 years with the World Cup in between. We will only benefit if we keep the structure the same. 16 team World Cup 4 groups of 4. Every 4 years. If we’d have kept To this format in the 90s we’d be benefiting from emerging nations. Like union is now with Argentina becoming competitive etc.

Wigan are a different breed to the English sides of the past. Panthers wouldn't dominate them if they played them mid season, it would be a close game but the gap between the NRL and the Super League is not that big these days.

20 teams 19 games plus semis then you can have your Origin & City vs Country. You can have your World Club Challenge end of October after the SL GF Origin or Pacific Origin, Pacific Championships, GB tours & your WC every 4 years. What you lose in games from broadcasting NRL you get back in the form of the Rep fixtures. And that's what grows the game. Honestly then you can lineup SL & NRL better and play a legitimate WCC where is in Australia the clubs give a shit

Magnussen is seriously deluded, an absolute nutjob. As if Penrith would put 40 on Wigan! What's his excuse for Saint Helens beating Penrith in 2023?

They also seem to forget that Wigan are not allowed to spend anywhere near to what NRL clubs are able to spend on players. Despite this the all conquering Penrith struggled to break them down.

Who is that know-it-all nobody dishing the English clubs? One dodgy call is not 40 points - besides St Helens bombed a couple of tries when they won in Penrith. Then don't get me started on all the dodgy Australian ref calls.

Jesus the arrogance here St Helens hadnt started the season in 2023 and went down under and won without their first choice winger and a second rower and Wigan played without both first choice props albeit referring wasnt great. Need to stop this 'we'd be well ahead mid season' talk because ultimately both sides would be in better positions potentially. The World Club Challenge if treated with the right respect can be used to really showcase both leagues and bring a closer relationship between the two

The WCC and GF teams were pretty close: May vs Alamoti, Peachy vs Schneider, Eisenhuth vs Sorenson and Cole vs Luai. Luai probably makes the difference but pretending a significantly weakened team was sent is funny. Wigan on the other hand had both first choice props out that pretty much carry them.
