I found a pack of these on clearance and I’m impressed with the durability. It’s tough enough to last but soft enough to give a little action.

how long do they last?
@seizedcarcass8440 Жыл бұрын
@@nottgav I haven’t worn any out yet. Id say as long as you don’t snag it should last for a good amount of fish. At least 50 or more.

I bought a few Creme Lure Trout Bugs tonight. The Salmon Fly,Caddis Fly, and The Stone Fly Nymph. I can't wait to try tomorrow since I just finished watching your presentation video. Thanks for showing the technique and providing me, the viewer, with a great video!

Open up the hook, bend it out a little bit, squash the barb down flat with some pliers for easy release, and then hone the hook sharp with a ladies diamond nail file and you will dramatically increase your hookup chance when the fish take your bait! Drag the hook gently across your hand and if it bites and sticks instead of sliding along it's ready to catch fish. As a bonus, if you accidentally hook yourself, a barbless hook comes out real easy as opposed to the alternative.

surprised i stumbled onto this video - i was very skeptical using the yellow nymph style one u use at the end, and to my surprise, it was fooling the wild rainbows in my area. and for me, if it fools the wild ones, they are definitely effective! great review man

On the soft plastic bugs and helgramite put the hooks in facing UP instead of down and open the hook gap just a tiny bit and your hook-up ratio will skyrocket...

Good info video. Could you learn to release from the net a little easier and lower to the water? Flopping out the net can cause injury with rocks and log jams. We all want to protect the resource we enjoy. Practice fishing ethics, share the water, leave no trace. Join Trout Unlimited and limit your kill, not your catch. Take a kid fishing!

Salmon fly deadly on Erie pa tribs
@ronuhlenhopp93684 жыл бұрын
My hand tied flies and knowing when and where to use them is generally far better than the plastic creme "bugs" you've shown. Mini and micro jig heads with nymph patterns tied on them work magic on stream trout. I use 1/124, 1/100, 1/80, 1/64, and 1/32 ounce hand painted and plated jig heads. I use fly rods for the first three weights and UL spin tackle for the latter two. However, float fishing I can use any of the above weights if slip floats and split shot are properly used. I love finesse fishing and presenting artificial hand-tied flies to stream trout. This is extremely effective and involves learning what the trout food forms are in a particular stream for the given conditions and time of the year... never boring!

I've been trout fishing for a long time, and I know all about handling trout and fish in general. All species are different in the way you can handle them. I love videos like this one especially trying out new products. I think he does a great job overall but we'll have to agree to disagree on the handling trout! 🙂
@ronuhlenhopp93684 жыл бұрын
Flattening the hook barbs can permit the easy release of stream trout. The hooks are easily released from the fish and minimize the hook snagging on the net as well. Using a catch and release net with rubber net can be a good help for sure. I use a telescoping folding trout net where I never have to touch the fish or remove it from the water. I revive trout using the net as well. It is a Solvkroken brand net from perhaps 20 years ago. I own three of them for each of my trout outfits.
