Recorded 6/17/2024 at 3:08 pm. At least the power wasn’t just a pair of AC44C6M’s! As of June 9th, 282 was profiled to originate out of Atlanta instead of Jacksonville, FL. I'm very surprised this train wasn't combined with 240. I'll sure as heck take it! Having another reliable train in daylight up here is always welcome. Speed-wise, this 282 was OK. Not the best, but it was OK. This is only a 5,000-foot intermodal train man. It's like I always say, Trip Optimizer, aka Auto Control, runs the show on the GE's. With the big EMD's, it's called Energy Management. The engineer for the most part is not allowed to throttle up! This seems to be the case on NS at least. CSX loves the heck out of Trip Optimizer. 9.5/10 times it seems to be operating on their GEVOS. With CSX, you've got to go for their older power (SD40's, AC44CW's) and the SD70MAC rebuilds which are labeled as "SD70AC's." I'm not sure how well TO works on the AC44 rebuilds (CM44AC's). I'm guessing it's somewhat reliable as it is on the GEVOS. I hope I'm wrong on that of course! Anyways, I hope you all enjoy the video. Comment, like, and/or subscribe!
