You gave me some encouragement with this video. Just getting into an FX Crown Continuum in .25 cal. I got the Patchworm Field Kit and although I have been using cleaning felts since the start the Ballistol removed a ton of crap (lesson learned). I also didn't see it till now that the 380mm barrel just wont accommodate the push needed for the FX Hybrids. Time for the long barrel and the NSA Slugs :) Thanks heaps your content is very helpful :)

Would also recommend getting a huma transfer port. And a larger probe.

I tried the 17.5 grains just for fun and to see how acurate they are. Only i forgot to turn down the power because i was shooting 30 grain slugs. As i pulled the trigger there was a hell of a bang filling up my whole backyard... My chrony told me the speed was 367 MPS or 1204 FPS. I broke the sound barier big time i guess. oops ;-)

Hey from the US, I have an Impact MKII with 600mm barrel and Donny FL upgrade, I'm shooting 23 gr NSA .217's at 980 fps for sub 3/8" groups at 50 yd's and almost as good at 75. Better than moa, but don't have more room in my yard to test beyond that. Since you like the NSA slugs, give these a try, should also have a bit better bc than the 17's you like.

I found quite a few NSA 20.2 with ‘ nicks’ on the edge of the bottoms. Last box almost a third of them. That sucks because the good ones shoot realy good out of my Wildcat.

Start thinking about making your own. It's not as difficult as you may think. Mine work a treat even at 100 mtrs.

@tnsharpshooter8517 0 seconds ago I have some of those slugs. My avenger X 22 cal don’t seem to like. My Avenge X loves Zan 20 grainers. Not shot at 100 yards or 100 meters. Have shot at 50 and 60 yards. 60 yards light wind. Under dime sized groups. No joke. Scary actually. May try at longer distance just to see what they do. I don’t even know how fast I have them running. They are faster than 900 fps. I don’t just know how much faster. I haven’t give up on the nsa though. Might get me another 22 cal barrel. They may shoot in it. I do like the cost of nsa over the Zans though.

Very informative. Big difference between Australia $ and USA $. Maybe more affordable making your own? Pellet dies and slug dies for airguns maybe the next big market with the pellet shortages that keep happening. Cool video. Thanks.

My dreamline line with the new block design can push 23d h&n at 960fps at 130bar on the reg with a 600mm barrel fx seem to of made changes to the valving and it returns over 100 shots at that setting using a 500cc carbon bottle, grest videos I watch them all, have you tried the Zan slugs, no tuning needed just shoot the same as a pellet out of the bag, only available in 25cal at the moment 22cal coming next couple of weeks

Good info .but a dreamline is not a low powerpcp. Mine drives a. .30 44 grain 295 ms at 145 reg with a 700 mm superior liner. V2 transfr prt.64 cc plenum. and thats not the max possible. at the end the output of a pcp airgun come `sout ,the volume of air per shot ,the pressure of that volume of air ,barrellenght ,and caliber , that`s why pcp guns like a airforce 458 uses 3 to four shots to empty the bottle , but the output is like a 44 mag revolver

Hi, I purchased the kerven airboss k1 25 cal cal. There is a company in South Africa that makes a barrel for my gun that's compatible with pellets and slugs. From what I understand een if you find a slug that works with your standard barrel, you're still going to get better results with a barrel that is specifically made for slugs or a combination of slugs and pellets. Do you agree? I'm thinking about purchasing the barrel
@meatheadmarksman2013
@meatheadmarksman2013 6 ай бұрын
The bits you need to worry about are the exact calibre of the barrel, that is for .22 they're usually .217 or .218, some slugs perform marginally in tighter (.217) or looser (.218) barrels depending on the slug itself and the twist rate of the barrel will be quite a bit faster then a pellet barrel. If I were you I'd just buy some slugs and try them in your current barrel first, then if your not happy get on the phone with the barrel maker and tell them what you wanna shoot and see what they say.

@@meatheadmarksman2013In terms of a 25 caliber what numbers should I be looking at in terms of slugs should be looking at purchasing? If I do figure out what kind of slugs work best for my standard Barrel isn't there an advantage to purchasing a barrel that shoots both pellets and slugs because it'll save you from making any adjustments when you alternate from slugs to pellets in terms of the spring rate? @meatheadmarksman2013

@surreallife777 id get the smallest quantities of each slug you wanna try that are available to you, often slug companies will sell a sample pack which is a nice easy way to get a few different weights. Generally speaking shorter and lighter slugs are more likely to work well in a pellet barrel as they are more likely to stabilise with a slower twist rate

Sig rangefinder: kzbin.info/www/bejne/r2iXgKKPmceNhZo&ab_channel=MeatheadMarksmanMeatheadMarksman cant quite remembererererer which videos I spoke of BC's but if you download the Strelok app you can use the ammunition selection in there with the pre loaded BC for that pellet/slug/ammo and it will be correct, or you can custom load in all the data -change the bc type, and compare what the elevation changes are to see if there are any real world differences for the ranges that you shoot at. they are usually also available on the manufacturereres website

They are not bad but try to test the H&N 21gr or 23 gr in 218. And see for your self. As good as 0.5- 0.7 inch groups in 100 yards. Besides they are almost the same price.thanks for sharing your work.
