The Day after, Testament and Threads. All scary as a kid in the 80's.

Ryan Henke No kidding I watched threads in 1987 I was in the 4th grade. At first I didn't understand what it was about and when the attack segment came I was a bit freaked by what I had seen. So roared up the stairs and asked my mother is what I just saw on tv real and could it really happen. She did not lie to me so I watched the rest of the movie. Never seen it after that for about 15 years. And because of that movie it sparked my interest in nuclear weapons still research it today. The day after was just as good Threads was a little more graphic but both are great movies I wish they would re make one of these movies.

Think about this please, 1. Has any war gone as originally planned? 2. Has man ever created a weapon that has not eventually been used? 3. Do politicians have your best interest at heart?

1. Yes. The Gulf War Wentz nearly exactly as planned. 2. Countless. 3. Do you have anyone's best interest at heart other than your own truthfully?

With nukes politicians need to have their own interest at heart in order to protect ours

One thing remains unchanged and that is that these nuclear war experts really did'nt have any idea what might happen. They earned some decent paychecks and had good level postings in their organization and they spoke with expert confidence, but the simple fact is if they ever had to watch their theories go into action we all would have been better off if they had never got into the business in the first place. Limited response and option my ass. It all led to escalation and right back to MAD.

Stupid comment: "These nuclear war experts really didn't have any idea what might happen." Neither do you, and yet you state it all led to escalation and right back to MAD, but since we're still here, what you describe hasn't happened.

absolutely. I remember watching those speeches as a kid. my father explained to me that alot of people call Reagan's words warmongering.....but it's not. He said he was giving a voice to those that had none. He was standing up for the people that were under oppression.

I grew up during the Reagan years and was so proud of America and being an American. How I miss those days, we need another Reagan, we need to stop with this liberal insanity and get back to conservative government and reasonable politicians.

25:55 'as I think president Washintong said...', What a brainless SoD Schelasinger was.... Si vis pacem, para bellum” The old Latin adage «SI VIS PACEM, PARA BELLUM», which we can translate as «If you want peace, prepare for war», comes from an ancient Roman text, Epitoma rei militaris, written by Flavio Vegecio (late 4th century AD).

These are really informative, however the music is just awful. I would rather have had none. Every time the music swells i just roll my eyes.

When it comes to war we spend money like nobodys business. When it comes to helping our own people, well gee, we just cant do that. What a waste and a disgrace.

Too bad you don't actually research before you type. We spend 21% of GDP on Welfare 18% on Healthcare and 4% on defense that's as of 2016
