Reining horses have the genetics for really long, thick manes and tails. I've known a few with manes like this one's or longer that are genuinely the animal's hair. It's not extensions. Look up Tomas Garcilazo for example. He rides one that has a longer mane yet. It's all in the genetics and maintenance. If the mane is cared for and the horse has the genetics for it, they can get incredibly long.

@@OzarkRose I've never heard of a breed of horse that has genetics for long mane and tails. If you don't cut or pull a horses mane and take very good care of it any mane can get that long, not just reining horses
