I don't feel that it has anything to do with her beauty, if anything I think her beauty adds to her aura. I think she isn't taken seriously more so because of her association with The Pussycat Dolls, The X Factor, and her single records; which are all jokes in comparison to this.

KaiM F I am totally with you with the the Emma Watson thing. that movie was just horrible in general. and yes, Gerad Butler did do a pretty good job acting, but the phantom is simply not the phantom if he can't sing. you can feel him struggling to try and put his best efforts onto acting out the part as well as sing. And anyway, even without Ger, that movie was still a mess, in my opinion. it had a lot of potential but they in completely destroyed it. but back to the singing, they should have just had professional signers dub the actors and let them focus on what they are actualy good at: acting!
@KaMafo285 жыл бұрын
@@angryasfuck6662 I have a soft spot for the movie because it was the movie that introduced me to my love of musicals. The only strong singer in the movie was Emmy Rossum and I think it would have been way better for an actual singer to have come in to help. Especially since most of the songs aren't simple and are very much hard vocals. I don't know why some people get so mad when actual singers come in and they just dub it over. Some actors can't sing and some singers can't act.

People don’t look at pretty faces nowadays and expect them to have no talent. They expect them to be great at everything! They laughed at Paul Potts and Susan Boyle because they were ugly and they expected ugly voices. It just isn’t true about people who are beautiful not getting a fair shot. Name some ugly pop stars and tell me you can’t find ten times the number of very attractive ones.

I understand what you’re saying & agree in general, but let’s not forget that Nicole put herself from the beginning in the pretty-sexy-video-vixen frame, I mean she was the lead singer of a band called The ”Pussycat” Dolls, she could’ve chosen a different path if she wanted, a Sarah Brigthman path for example, but she chose a Pussycat path, more fame, more money and easy money, so if society objectives her it’s because she chose to look like an object for many many years!

That's what a supported voice "on the breath" is supposed to sound like- relaxed, free, and with a spinning quality. Tenor #3 is the exact opposite. Numbers 1 and 2 are okay, but can improve to the quality of #4.
@tristanhnl7 жыл бұрын
Fach is not always clear-cut, as some tenors have low, rumbly chest notes, and some baritones have good extension above the staff. However, the timbre of Carpenter's voice around and above the passagio demonstrates an affinity to sing tenor roles for musical theatre. As for "power" in #1's singing, that is quite irrelevant, IMO. They sing with amplification, unlike in opera which is unamplified and relies on the singers' natural abilities to project. True, musical theatre puts less emphasis on technique, simply because the vocal talent required of musical theater performers is less than that of opera (a LOT less in most cases). Yet, the topic of the original post was that of a technical nature, that's why I analysed the singers on those merits. Note, I didn't say the singers *should* improve to the level of #4, but *can*. As far as technical mastery goes, Carpenter is indeed ahead of the pack.

@matthewkim81586 жыл бұрын
If you are part of the "musical" world you know who those Phantoms are. They are big, big, big, big musical theatre performers. Nicole is a trained vocalist, the vocals she performs on her own material is more of a pop sounding vocal, but she can sing different genres, she's actually quite talented, completely underrated as a solo artists. I'm glad Andrew Lloyd Webber saw this in her. She is one of his favorite pop-artists today. But if you want another example of someone like this, look up Charlotte Church, all she did was opera styled music, and then she went commercial/secular and did a pop album, vocals are a complete 180.
