By the way, black had a weird empty triangle at H14 to cut off and kill the bottom, in conjunction with the atari at F13. It was removed after he ataried the other direction. If he plays F13 first before H14, it becomes really hard to see, but I think once he makes the exchange at H14, I think the correct result is to give up the one stone. Still a disaster, but your bottom isn't dead. Necrotic Bottoms are gross, even in Go.

5-4 instead of 3-4 is worse technically, but the ostensible benefit is that it puts your opponent into their discomfort zone, and given how the opening went I think it was successfully discomforting.

Why is there no komi? If that's a global setting for all games on the platform, that would explain why no one wants to go with white :P

it's because his opponent is one rank lower than him, it's a handicap
