What an awesome experience! Sounds like a cool organization. Loved the interviews that you did with the crew members - super interesting! That's one of those services that you never hope you need, but you're sure glad they exist when you do need them. Good on you guys to help raise awareness for them!

We are stuck in Denmark as my Danish husband had a stroke here but we live in Durban. It’s been five years now so we love your Durban videos and long to come home. My husband worked for the NSRI when I met him! Our favorite spot was caravanning at Scttburgh. Maybe you can do a video there. It has the best swimming beach on the coast and beautiful clean pools for goggling. What shops are still there? Thank you for giving us back our memories! June and Leif x

Great video and the volunteers (no pay for their time) do a fantastic job. However most of the public are under a misconception that everyone are volunteers. This is even mentioned in the video. This is not the case. There are well paid people who work at the NSRI for a salary. It’s difficult to establish the percentage of the donations that are funneled to these salaries (no names are required just a Rand amount) but as with most NGO’s and public organizations transparency in the annual report would be welcomed. 👍
