Fantastic engineering. I had several of these, one I totally rebuilt and rode regularly, with my wife on the pillion, over many miles. Smooth and totally reliable. I had one which the engine was enlarged to around 305 cc and had been converted to right hand gear change, for racing. It was in a frame built by Armstrong Engineering with special leading link front forks. I just had the motor and frame and never did anything with it, it was sold to a gentleman who bought all my NSU collection. I taught myself the shimming up of the camshaft drive, took a while !. Lovely machine

Great video, thanks for sharing. I love this engine, I know you are a specialist in MAX 250 engines. If someone wants to know more they just have to watch your previous videos of other projects, I recommend it.

Thanks for your kind word ,but I'm far from specialist . I'm still in progress of learning some small details . This engine is bought specifically to restore it with all my knowledge , experience ,and with help of my friend Mr. Paolo .I hope to be the best several videos on KZbin , where you could learn how to restore this type of engine . In my previous videos ,the engines that were rebuilt were amaterly rebuild . I didn't have enough experience and proper tool .

Hi Have you a video of setting the timing of Standard Max in the magneto/dynomo by firing .6mm from TDC. I am not sure where this measurement is taken Regards Russell

Hello , this measure is done before engine head is installed , it is measured from top of cylinder to top of piston ( once when engine head is installed it cannot be measured ).

Dieser Motor wurde in seiner Vergangenheit wahrlich geschändet ! 😒😒

Ja, der Motor hatte einige sehr schlechte Tage :) , aber jetzt lächelt das Glück für diesen Motor.
