In this one, I restore the frame from my 1953 NSU Max 250 motorcycle. I fix the seat bracket, fabricate a new rear fender mount, make new supports for the center stand, and repair cracked welds. I do body work. I prime it. And I paint it a nice hot-rod black. It turns out great. I hope you enjoy.

Hi I read your post on removing the frond fork dampeners on your NSU. You made the tool from a drill press stand. I have some galvanised pipe that fits nicely. I have to do the same job on my 1955 MAX Standard. The question I have is what size are the lugs you cut on the pipe end e.g. 5mm high 6mm wide. My thoughts are, the tighter the fit into the slots on the dampeners, the less chance of damaging the legs on the pipe and slots on the dampeners. Regards Russell

Sorry, Russell. I completely missed your comment. The ones I used were roughly 5mm wide and about 8mm tall. The way they fit into the fork, they don’t have to be particularly precise. Just close enough to slot inside the nut.

Ali to nije NSU MAX . MAX ima centralni mono amortizer zadnje viljuške . I posuda za ulje je drugačija . Verovatno imate model SUPERMAX , pośto ima dva amortizera . Modeli LUX i MAX imaju istu vrstu rama .

This one had the monoshock originally. It was dealership modified for use with a dual saddle. The dual-shock kit you see was an accessory fitted by the dealership to the early models along with a dual seat. When that was done, the monoshock was cut out and a seat mount was welded to the original seat spring location. It was originally a monshock and is a '53 model, making it a Max, for sure.

If somebody ist interested, I got for NSU LUX and Super Lux several restored frames , 11 engines in different conditions, wheels tanks, lots of smal parts, seats, Overhauled MAX crankshaft, MAx cylinder head et.c etc. for sale , all parts , can send some pics , also a Heinkel scooter dissasembled with overhauled engine . All this is located in th north western part of Germany not far from the Dutch border . Will negotiate .
