I've been waiting for this DVD to be released for a long time. The preview shows the wait has been worth it! It's going to be another excellent addition to my Belbin movies collection :-)

@h3ll0b0b The music was composed and/or performed by an American named Kevin Macleod. The Tassie music is called Thaxted, composed by Gustav Holst.

@h3ll0b0b Hi again. I'm tring to find the name of the music over the B& W stuff and will let you know. The colour film is backed by a song called Skye Cuillin (Celtic). Lovely, isn't it. It took a great deal of time to match music and footage without compromising either. I'm glad it has been well received.

@LambingFlat I bought a copy, the cover was correct but the DVD itself was of another Belbin film! Need to return it now.

What were the carriage sets hauled on these runs? I noticed that the brake vans appeared to be built to the same size as the other passenger cars, giving it a smooth aerodynamic appearance.

Have just discovered your channel today. I didn't know that there was such a variety of steam in Australia. What is the track gauge these trains are seen running on please?
@BelbinVideo6 жыл бұрын
Hi Tulyar 10. Track is "Standard " gauge. 4 ft 8 1/2 inches.

Love your work, but could you please be a bit more careful matching the sound to the action ? There's a couple of shots such as at 0:30 where the actual train speed is only about half what the sound effects are indicating..... There's another scene where I suspect the SFX comes from a 3 cylinder 57 or 58..... But I'm just being picky :) . Thanks for posting

If you are referring to the streamlined 38 at Redfern I'll have to dispute that one. Please check wheel revolutions and crosshead movement. Four chuffs per revolution. Pretty close, in my opinion. I don't know which scene you think may have come from a three cylinder loco but it didn't.

The 38,s along with the 59,s And 60 class locos were withdrawn long before they were life expired To get full useage they could have been run till the late 70 or early 80,s
