As a Black American I decided to watch to educate myself on the subject. I did not learn much but had fun watching. It is interesting to note that there are struggles within the Asian population to distinguish between your different ethnic groups. Blacks can usually tell if we are from America or the Caribbean or European or such. Much is from the way one carries themselves. Mannerisms as well as ones features and appearance. With intermingling of cultures and people picking choices outside their heritage makes it difficult sometimes to tell which is which. With the face quiz I wish you had the answer after each one as I forgot what I guessed for most. I did get more than a couple right but again they were just guesses. Your video was amusing. Thank you.

" Blacks can usually tell if we are from America or the Caribbean or European or such. Much is from the way one carries themselves. Mannerisms as well as ones features and appearance." Ok fair enough. But in this video, they were trying tp identify total strangers by just a headshot photo. Do you think it is possible to identify where Black person came from by just a photo? I don't know for sure but I have my doubts...
@stefanmiddelton7626 Жыл бұрын
Try to tell who is Nigerian and Cameroonian from a photo,or a Zimbabwean and a Ivorian. Blacks from America, are mixed,so you have subtle clues. Blacks from Africa on the other hand,are harder to distinguish. Native populations are harder to guess because they aren't as mixed.
@iakadayrneh Жыл бұрын
But all the blacks whether ,from Jamaica, Haiti or the United States both share ancestry from west African ethnicities.Well east Asian have been different ethnicity for nearly 10,000 years. It's more difficult to tell blacks apart.

Sane happens to me in Europe, tbh. You can usually tell Northern and Southern European apart, because soitherb Europeans tend to have dark brown hair and hazel or brown eyes, while Northern Europeans tend to have lighter hair and eye colour. Also, Northern Europeans are talller. Some people can also make distinctions between west and eastwrn Europeans. I however, can barely tell the difference. Also, though you can broadly diferenciate between grouosnof Northern vs Southern Europeans, when it comes to individuals is a bit more difficult, since Eurooe is a gradient, so most southerners won't look out if place in central European countries. Is he Spanish or Southern German? Is he Portuguese or Serbian? Is he Romanian or French? Is he English or Hungarian? Well, good luck guessing.

Jacky Phantom Ainus are austronesian, but most Japanese do not have austronesian blood, and most certainly do not look like that. You tell me not to cherry pick yet you are doing the same as well. Most Japanese people do not look like Ken Hirai. Taiwanese people lived among Taiwanese aborigines for hundreds of years, do you think they look like Taiwanese aborigines? In general, no, some do, but most don’t. Similarly, of course some Japanese look austronesian due to admixture with Ainus but most do not. I’d say 85% of Japanese people do not look like that. Like I said, Chinese people can look the most diverse. We have the smallest eyes and the biggest eyes of East Asia. I know you’re a Japanese self hater who wants to be Southeast Asian, and want the physical features that Southeast Asians have but in reality most Japanese 23andme and Ancestry tests often have Korean lineage, not really SE Asians. @@rebee5749 Since interaction among the countries was not common in the past, there are some differences among the nationalities. Also technically, you can find some differences among same races, for example, you may find Arabic is different from German even if both of Arabic and German are categorized as white. Latin is also different from Scandinavian. Since Korea is a homogeneous country, it is common that many Korean are assuming that nationalities refer races.

Japanese have longer faces, high eyebrows and taller noses as well.

wow this is a great combination of pics, the also all look alike on average. But here in kurashiki most women have smaller eyes than the Japanese girl in your img. Otherwise it’s impossible for me to differentiate between a Korean and a Chinese tbh. Also some Japanese people look like Chinese/Koreans.

In my opinion, Japanese people generally have sharper facial features than Chinese people. Not more Caucasoid looking, but sharper looking facial features. Chinese people don't have sharp facial features as Japanese people, and a lot of Chinese girls have long legs.

That's what I think. When I watch Japanese old films and drama series from the 1950's-1980's, I notice that Japanese actors & actresses look like caucasians especially Toshiro Mifune. They have double eyelids, pointier and bridge nose and sharp jaws. I even thought that those Japanese actors & actresses from 1950's-1980's are half caucasians. Then, I found out that Japan has different types of people namely *Ainu, Jomon and Yayoi.* The typical Japanese we're used to seeing nowadays have Yayaoi features. Ainu and Jomon have double eyelids, pointier nose, sharp features and light skin looking like caucasians at some point.

Nothern koreans actually fit the stereotype perfectly cause they can't get plastic surgery :) You get confused because all the plastic surgery/beauty marketing on South and how pop culture advertise them looking completely different than how they really look... Don't get me wrong, I'm not saying that they are all fake. But I have korean friends and they also fit the stereotype before get got work done (I'm not against it they look pretty and more importantly they are happier!!), but you can't tell they got work done haha... Surgeons are talented nowadays!

Some Japanese look Korean or Chinese, some Chinese look Japanese or Korean, some Malays look Chinese, some Indians look Europeans, some Africans look Egyptians. These three are dumb to teach people how to tell the difference among Chinese, Japanese and Koreans when the guy on the left looks like Tibetan and the right looks like Nepalese and the woman looks like a product of Korean plastic surgery. I am Eskimo but some people mistake me as French and some mistake as Nigerian.

I, as an American, find it impossible to differentiate, just as I find it very difficult to tell a fellow American from a Canadian, German, Dutch, Belgian, etc. The only way I could have a prayer of guessing right with Asians, including Vietnamese, Laotian, Thai, etc., would be to ask their name, then take an educated guess, since I'm familiar with Americans of those nationalities, even here in my city.

correction: 'to tell east asians apart' the author of this video should know that chinese, korean, and chinese are not the only asians living in this world. there are various ethnicities in the asian region.

asia is a huge and diverse continent, so when people say asians theyre usually referring to east asians.
@jesusislordsavior63435 жыл бұрын
+Aldriniel Verallo Right on target! There are so many others. And even Koreans didn't get much respect until the South joined the club of 'democratic' nations in 1988, meanwhile making its economic, technological, and cultural influence known. One curious fact: South Korea sends out more Christian missionaries per capita than any other nation on earth. I think the USA is second and the UK third.
@romanticscent8910 жыл бұрын
Well.. It's hard to say in general but as a Korean, I don't get why Koreans have to be described as squared shape -.- I have seen tons of Koreans who have round shape. It must be accurate cuz I live here. At least, I am the person. This video is so biased... You guys mentioned Chinese are all different because of their huge territory. Korean are even all different in this SMALL country.

Not really. Look at pictures of Nprth (natural) Koreans. South Koreans look almost like a completely different people due to your extreme plastic surgery rates; 1/5 korean women get cosmetic surgery. I never saw a korean who didnt look like the painting who doesnt have a face full of white makeup and brown hairdye.
@roseakainternationalplaygi48886 жыл бұрын
偉大な敵 No it’s not because of plastic surgery... Plastic surgery can’t mess with genetics, so I doubt that’s the reason. Nowadays south koreans don’t have the “square” face shape as much, at least from what I’ve seen.
@eustruria6 жыл бұрын
ROSÈ aka International Playgirl I live in America now. From what I've seen, American born Koreans usually have darker skin and a squarer face compared to other American asians, whereas native Koreans here are white as snow with brown dyed hair.

I can primarily tell by their name or listening their language. A few times I’ve been able to tell solely on physique, but it’s usually about a 35-40% probability chance I’m able to tell nationality solely by look. I’m Hispanic, btw.
