The audio needs to be 3-6dB louder, but thank you.

It seems most of the questions that were asked were based around FAA regulations and what the NTSB thinks happened and why. Clearly they don't understand what the NTSB does and why there are there. Right now they are simply collecting as much data as they possibly can so that they can analyze what happened and create the best picture they can of the events of that day, then they will make recommendations of how to prevent this kind of thing in the future.

Do we know the ages of the pilots? I get the impression that fans of WWII planes are often quite senior and nostalgic enthusiasm may not be matched by appreciation of the severity of flying old aircraft that may be particularly unforgiving. One might also examine if similar airshow enthusiasm betrays good safety. And stoked patriotism. The videos fairly clearly points to fully functioning aircraft colliding in each other's blind angles although the B17 has side windows that would presumably allow seeing the P63 had the pilot been scanning to the sides and back, looking for other aircraft.

The CAF is losing a lot of pilots due to aging out. They're simply too old to pass the physicals. I was at the show Saturday. It's hearsay, but someone listening to the radio traffic said the P63 was told to overtake the B17. I don't know what that would equate to, but from what it appears to me, the P63 seemed like he believed he was well ahead of the B17. There are a LOT of planes in the sky at these shows.

@@Texas2727 sounds quite plausible. a few snags in the execution. visual contact might have been good. mistakes were made.

The pilots were in their 60's former American Airlines pilots in the B17. No WW2 is qualified to fly any longer.

There have always been fatalities at airshows and always will be if they continue to be held. Low level uneccessary operations with multiple aircraft means deaths are inevitable.

People die in traffic every day. By your Logic we should also stop driving cars. However i do Think you are right that its not such a good idea to have so many Aircraft in the air at the same time during an airshow. Especially these rare examples

@@ninus17 we should largely stop driving cars tho. theres numerous safer alternatives for almost every use case; they only thing still needed to switch is sufficient political willpower

According to what study?!?!? I have been to 1 in Houston and there was no Casualties. And this has been the first I’ve heard of in my 19 years of life. I find your claim that every air show has casualties as absolute BS.

I was watching the air show on TV in India and I was like completely shocked that I just witnessed a air crash... But @TheJapanChannelDcom is right we should not host air shows or even if we do host air shows there should be only one aircraft in the air or 2 aircraft with a lot of space between them...... So like half a mile of distance.

It looks like the new air boss for the show is also to blame for this crash. The pilot of the p-63 is also at fault because some how he lost site is the b-17 and flew right thru it. It's a good thing that there where no paying customers on the plane.
