So in an emergency failure you might get only one chance to feather it (while you're distracted and preoccupied trying to figure out what the HELL is going on), and .... engine seized!!! OOPs you MISSED it and you're screwed now. GREAT DESIGN!!!

What a great idea, installing a feature that adds minor convenience on the ground but makes an already stressful situation mid-air more dangerous. Shouldn't these be banned/removed for safety?

It can be the difference between starting and not on a cold day. A successful start with a feathered prop is harder on the engine.

@@firstielasty1162do you know if there is a reason that the propellers could not be rotated out of feathered positions on the ground before start? To me this also seems like a poor design choice. I’d rather turn a mechanical mechanism during preflight than risk being doomed in the air by a “convenience feature”.

Yes, part of the advantage of twin engines is in case one loses power you aren't suddenly piloting a glider. Should train more for that scenario so it actually is an advantage in the event it happens for real to you one day.
