The paper signals given to both the Kanchanjunga Express and the Goods train had no mention of the speed limit. Was there any separate caution issued to the pilots of the both the trains since the automatic signalling system wasn't working? Was the paper signal clearance to the goods train given after an adequate time gap so that Kanchanjunga Express had crossed a complete section and the goods train could maintain a safe distance? The station master of Rangapani station, the last station from where both the trains were given clearances and after which the accident happened, has been put on leave pending enquiry.

Very nicely covered . It clearly seems there are multiple party involved and this highlights the lack of safety measures taken up by the Rail minister .But , I highly suspect that railWAY will cover up this matter and blame it on the Loco pilot .

Can you answer a simple question, if no speed limit is mentioned on the memo, can a loco-pilot (driver) drive the train at say 70 kmph and hault at every 9 level crossing as mentioned in the Memo? Is it ever possible to drive a goods train at full speed and bring it to a halt within a couple of hundred meters. Are you out of your mind?

@11.34 please donot try to talk to the gatemen when train is approaching and he is doing duty, in case of any emergency he has to protect train, track and road users. He has to be alert vigilant to spot any defects in train and show green to guard.

The statement given by railway department is falsely . They misleads how in nearby fhatak good train always travels not more than 20 kms . 😢😢😢😢

It is not clear whether the gate men of the neighbouring gates also communictate among themselves. The accident occured at a point between gates 9 & 10. That is the exp train had crossed gate 9 but did not reach gate10. So the staff at 9 was needed to ensure that the exp train indeed crossed gate 10( by communicating with staff at gate10) before giving green signal to the goods train to proceed beyond gate 9.

Jab railway hi bol Diya ki locopilot singnal ki andekhi ki hai to dusre ko kya bole,,,jo singnal kharab tha,,fir bhi.. communication to tha dusri gari kyu chhora gaya jab agle gari pahucha hi nahi tha to.

Tamal excellent job you are reporting what our mainstream media are failing to report. But one more question arises is why was Kanchanjunga express asked to halt at that very location and was the Goods Train locopilot informed about theres a train head of its heading.

Issue is very clear... whether loco pilot perished or not.. why he could not see the passenger train from a distance and apply brakes. How long would it take to stop the train or at least slow down to minimize the impact?

they completely blamed the loco pilot as he is no more .how could Rly mos conclude this fatal accident reason so fast where a railway investigation needs sufficient time as many sections are involved to maintain and run a loco . Every rly staffs are working more than their capacity due to vacant posts loco pilots are taking shift of more than 14 hrs on an avg. all the new technologies are applying to the loco and many conversions has been made to the typical loco but they are failing. And every loco shed is overflowing with the capacity to inspect and Every loco shed is reporting more failures in ops under this but they will never cater all this problem only they will show you vande Bharat and its reel

TA 912 MEANS SPEED LIMIT UNDER 10 KM. LOCO PILOT TRAINING TIME AS SAB PADHAYA JATA HAI

TA 912 does not specify speed limit. Speed limit is specified in G&SR 9.02. TA 912 overrides G&SR 9.02. In case of speed restriction, the same should be mentioned on the TA 912 order given to the loco pilot. In addition, when the previous train had not crossed the minimum separation distance, the subsequent trains should never have been issued the TA 912 by the RNI station master.
