A nice piece. The government should actually work towards reviving the town. When I hear the old man speak of the cotton ginnery, the harbor, NCPB stores, it feels like he is from another world. The lost glory of Kendu Bay needs to be restored. By today, Kendu could have provided the shortest water way connecting the south Nyanza and Kisumu. With the modern road networks from Katito, Oyugis and Homabay, Kendu can be one of the beautiful towns in Kenya, with its strategic location along the Great Lake. Kendu Bay story should not be like the story of ALEPO. Let the government restore the lost glory of Kendu Bay.
