Ive startes my buisness about a 2 years ago with 300 chickens.... Everything went bad for my lack of knowledge... They died of diseases and chicken lice... I remain with only 50... But those last 50 is where i learned so much... Ive recently bought 300 new chicks in hopes of using my new knowledge ... They are 4 months old and i hope for the best... They are healtthy

I guess Farmer David missed the part about lighting. Layers need supplemental lighting since day length is only about 12 hours and they need up to 16 hours of light to lay optimally.

Wow birds over 2years still laying 85percent... excellent stuff and you must be doing something very very right for them to perform. Can you kindly share with me... I have started my project and currently have 2000 birds. My mixing formula is maize, kudjies concentrate, wheat bran, soya, fish and shell....I would kindly like to know your secret formula that gets them laying at that age. Thank you

Looks like your formula is perfect. I suspect these birds are not stressed and happy... eventhough this operation is not very high tech, they are well ventilated and not as crowded. Also looks like very good breed, you can almost mistake these for meat birds, they have good sizes. They are still saleable for meat, even after finishing with laying.
