I stand behind everything written lyrically on this album! It's the art of adolescents! If you can't put yourself in the shoes of another do an hour and change to remove yourself from your mundane life and seperate real life from art, then there's something wrong! I was never a nu metal guy, and I never understood the comparisons. I was a punk kid, who got I to hardcore around 98. I was a huge VOD fan and they got that label too...also not a nu metal band! But I get how nu metal fans could groove to these bands! Also back then you'd have mixed bills. I remember seeing hatebreed in 98 with soulfly and neurosis! I was a fan of old neurosis from their punk days! And after seeing them live I got into their newer stuff! But back to GlassJaw, I dabbles with finch and the used when they first came out, I listened to their albums for a month or two till I realized they were terrible Rip offs and industry plants. But, more importantly their albums don't hold up. After those albums I realized I was a hardcore kid at heart and I just didn't relate to pop! And that's okay. And it's okay to like pop, I celebrate diversity in people! All in all I think your breakdown of the record was good! Also side note: reason why "hurting and shoving" doesn't sound like them completely like y'all were saying is because it was co-written w/ Ross Robinson. So that's why it may sound off a little. I still love it, though. I love that spoken word almost rapping approach to lyricism!

When he stumbles at the end of the bridge of Pretty Lush, you know you're dealing with something completely unfiltered.

The way i look at this first album is this. This record has helped me get my anger and frustration from being in very brutal bad relationships and has helped me to heal in alot of ways. Considering i just turned 20 im still learning everything out by life lol.

GlassJaw EYEWTKAS is top 5 Post Hardcore albums ever made! I got everything from the Don Fury sessions to KKBB and everything before and in between. I've been a fan since the early/late 90s and one of the best bands to come out of LINY. Every post Hardcore band after was a recycled version of them. I have the drum and bass version of Worship & Tribute. They also had some of the best musicians record and play live with them. Manuel Carrero played bass live for my guitarists other band As Dar As You - Light worker album playthrough (Check them out). I had the pleasure of Hanging out with Daryl and Beck in 2012-2013 they were coming to the studio I was doing session work at and they watched our set and I came out (I play Drums) Daryl being one of my heroes, Beck as well and the first thing Daryl said was " Holy shit man you're a killer drummer, Beck dabbed me up and said Dude you got chops!". Didn't say anything about the band but went out of their way to give me some praise and that was one of the best comments I've ever gotten esp from my top 5 bands of all time. Then invited us to a few private shows. We smoked a bunch of weed (Not beck) and my singer was just getting him Zips of our really good home grown Kush lol. Then he would run on stage Blazed face and kill it every night. I love how he changes up the lyrics every show! He never sang the songs the same they were different every show! I've probably seen them with every lineup from 98 to 2022. Ross Robinson produced a ton of bangers and got the best takes from them and without him I don't think you would have gotten that album to be as raw and original. Even though Daryl and Beck write all of the songs. Becks the musical brain and Daryl one of the best Vocalist ever to do the damn thing! I have sooo manty stories but GJ is one of those bands that influenced a million bands till this day and not being Hollywood big. They still are the underground post hardcore kings imo. PACK YOUR SHIT AND LEAVE AND TAKE MY MEMORIES OF HER FUCKING WITH YOU! 10/10 ALSO NOBODY EVER MENTIONS FINCHES SECOND ALBUM SAY HELLO TO SUNSHINE! wAY BETTER THAN WIITB!!! THAT ALBUM IS AMAZING AND VERY MIKE PATTONISH VOCALY AND THE MUSIC IS SO DIFFERENT AND STILL ON ROTATIONTILLTHIS DAY ALONG WITH EVERY GJ ALBUM.

1. I need to hear the drum and bass Worship and Tribute. 2. You want to come on and do a deep dive of the second Finch album? Email us and we'll set it up! To be honest, I HATED it when it first came out, but in the years since i've come to realize this was their Pinkerton moment and I just wasn't ready.....

@@NuBreedPodcast Hell Yeah! I have the Drum and Bass album posted on my page. I got a lot of old GLASSJAW recordings and demos that haven't seen the light of day lol. I'm actually remixing the W&T drum and bass to bring more clarity and take out some of the background noise. Its all the albums live takes that they kept. I think I'm missing 1 song which I know I have I also have tons of EYEWTKAS demos too. I had all of it on my other page that got deleted by KZbin for copyright bs but got full permission to release the D&B album.

@@NuBreedPodcast As for Say hello to sunshine I loved it the very second I heard it. I knew they had way more talent than playing bop tunes and this album had it all! I'm a huge Mike Patton fan and when I heard the album all the way through I knew he was going for more of a Patton sound then the post hardcore Daryl Palumbo sound. Which I think it's Dreams of psilocybin has a clip of Patton when he did Zorns live album in the beginning of the song. Which I thought was his tribute to him and very cool. A lot of people can't admit it but Patton has it all when it comes to being the perfect vocalist. I'm a huge music head and been listening and playing music my whole life. I grew up being the 3rd generation drummers/musicians in my family my sons being the 4th. So we definitely have a lot of history when it comes to music period.

I read these lyrics to my wife as poetry, as if Bukowski was reciting. These lyrics are gold and should not be taken for granted.

Perfect example of the raw experience of this album. At the end of EYEWTKAS you can hear Daryl say " You don't need another one do you" and Ross says Nope. Daryl's raw vocal performance makes that album what it is.

Regarding the lyrics, I remember being at a show back around 97 Daryl was like these songs is for the ugly guys in the back. GJ was a great band to see live and the lyrics (even on kiss kiss bang bang) were a great escape for being the odd kid out.

The lyrics are not good. We all know. When Daryl himself says he wishes hed not have wrote what he did, that should be the end. Especially when he doesnt haven't a track record of woman coming out saying he was absusive. If so, thats a different story. Thats the thing people always leave out with "cancel culture". 9/10, the people admit they did the thing. Or is at least enough evidence to make you actually wonder. And yeah, its warranted. Thats not "cancel culture", thats repercussions.

Masterpiece. It's a complicated masterpiece, and I might prefer W&T. But a masterpiece nonetheless.
