On the quay his handkerchief already escapes. In the ice like a dream the gray wall of his house Under the growing light, fades on the horizon A cloud stretches on his blue roof. As he goes he seems to say a sad farewell And everything I loved, when the train turns in a flood of smoke , fades forever (break) A cloud stretches on his blue roof. By the way he seems to say a sad farewell And everything I loved, when the train turns in a flood of smoke, fades forever

Again (and again :-) ) a perfect interpretation. This song come from the style : "Jazz Manouche" . What is the term "Manouche" : "Person who belongs to one of the three groups which together form the Gypsies". Gypsies are living in many countries, the "Jazz Manouche" is their music style (return to Caesar what belongs to Caesar). So, for Django, ok, he is french but not only. About Django (Wikipedia) : Jean Reinhardt, better known as Django Reinhardt, is a French jazz guitarist born January 23, 1910 in Liberchies - today a section of the town of Pont-à-Celles - in Belgium1,2 and died May 16 1953 in Samois-sur-Seine. His style of playing and composition was then followed by followers, giving birth to a full-fledged jazz style, gypsy jazz. Coming from a Sintenote 1 family and commonly known in France as "Gypsy", he is still today one of the most respected and influential guitarists in the history of jazz. Gravely injured in the fire of his trailer, he keeps all his life the consequences of his burns on his left hand which force him to find a new technique and to play in a style so particular that his followers of the following generations push the idolatry to obstruct the fingers to reproduce his infirmity and his technique3.
