☢️ Nuclear convoy departs RAF Brize Norton

Earlier this afternoon, a large convoy of police vehicles escorted a lorry believed to be carrying Nuclear weapons out of RAF Brize Norton. The weapons were flown in via an RAF C-17 Globemaster from Knoxville, Tennessee in the United States.

They are certainly leaving nothing to chance. Spare lorry + recovery vehicle amongst security and staff! For those who complain 'why weren't people informed' or 'why is it going through our area' firstly it is supposed to be a secret, and the police/military don't exactly want it published, just in case it is attacked. 2nd it is the most suitable route. Certain routes, which might seem okay, have restrictions.

I live in Maryville Tennessee and go to the Knoxville airport McGee Tyson for CAP often, I actually and saw the globemaster take off from the attached AF Base.

Good catch of the nuke convoy. I think those police trucks are a new addition as prior there used to be armoured green escort vans housing Royal Marine protection. I wonder if the Royal Marines are now deployed inside the police trucks. I’ve seen the coach etc before but there also usually a fire engine attached to the convoy plus more police escorts

Coach looks like a new addition. Possibly a command and control vehicle from the antennas and fold away looking dish on the roof. No Mercedes or Renault badges on the convoy vehicles.

Nukes aren’t flown in and out of the UK. The nukes are made in Reading. This is only transport of the Plutonium that’s used to make them.

Your day will immediately start to go very, very poorly indeed. There's a reason these convoys are made up the way they are. And depending on the threat (idiot protesters vs. terrorists) there's also a reason that the escorts carry live ammunition, as well, as I would imagine, have immediate access to enough heavy weaponry to start (and win) a small war. The coach will be for the AWE support personnel. The marines and special escort group will be in the back of the police trucks. Difficult to get out of a coach quickly vs 'throwing the van doors open'.

Security would be easier if a regular truck which was heavily armoured and built to the same specs was followed by armoured cars with plain clothed security. The Americans have used a similar measure. Make everyone think the main convoy is the clear military one by drawing attention to itself and the regular one slips by unnoticed because no one would pay attention to a regular delivery or service box truck.

So we do it differently by being overtly security conscious. Either way, regardless of what any terrorists try, they won’t remove a nuke from those trucks.
