A lot of Finns emigrated to Canada to work in the lumber industry in the late 1800s. Some of them got pissed off and went back home, others got depressed and committed suicide in a variety of inventive ways, and the descendants of those that remained still inhabit parts of Northern Ontario. They are an awesome people, and both the men and the women have great sisu.
@storytellermich69844 жыл бұрын
Not surprised to hear that. As a Canadian, I can say our history is pretty fucking dark. Not Finnish, but my grandpa was a lumberjack for awhile. He was out working away from my grandma and their 10 kids quite often.

mestämies translates into forestman or in correct English lumberjack and for those of you that dont speak finnish here is the lyrics in English Never afraid of hard work, a frame saw dragging man. Never met someone to throw him off his log Work of a lumberjack is a toil, The trees are cut and pruned with your own muscles The trees are moved and piled with your shoulder It´s cold and you´re hungry but the wilderness is home that gives food and warmth for it´s men Frame saws are sinning and two-man saws rub, a callus handed man. Frame saws are sinning and two-man saws rub, a callus handed man. Work of a lumberjack is a toil, The trees are cut and pruned with your own muscles The trees are moved and piled with your shoulder It´s cold and you´re hungry but the wilderness is home that gives food and warmth for it´s men

kiva kun on edes jonkinainen käännös. This translation is just translation. Many words are old spoken language like " nälkäviulu" and means hungryviolin or violin or the hungry and means frame saw. " Ei ole koskea tuol joka heivannut ois tämän jätkän tukiltansa pois" tehere are not any white-water what had throws that jack out top of his log. yes i kan not make evn that good translation.

Hungry and cold but the forest is the home, Which feeds it's guys and keeps them warm "The frame saw sings and the two-man saw grinds" Said the guy with worn-out hands. Desde hace 10 años son parte de mi vida cotidiana todos los días. Tuve la suerte de poder ver en dos oportunidades a Korpiklaani en Buenos Aires y sueño con que algún día puedan traer de gira con ellos a alguna de estas grandes bandas que cambiaron mi vida. El metal finés está al máximo nivel mundial y espero que sigan apareciendo bandas como estas que le hacen tan bien al alma. Saludos desde Buenos Aires Argentina !!!
