I have seen that mesh stuff at the hardware store and I thought it would look good in a post apocalyptic costume but I was not sure how I would use it, good idea!

What did you take the clamps off of? Or what are some substitute ideas for tightening the bracers

Try heating up whatever you use to punch holes through frabric. It'll melt synthetic fabrics and mke them less opt to fray and will therefore make your props/costumes last way longer.
@NuclearSnailStudios6 жыл бұрын
also takes more time and holy moly im lazy :D but yeah works for synthetics, my pal does it all the time for his tactical gear ^^

I'm late to the party but, would you happen to have a cut template for these metal pieces? I'm trying one on my own but it would be great to have it printable.

Gloves with a belt sander are not too much of a problem, actually. They are more of a problem on drills, lathes, angle grinders and such, but belt sanders should be not a problem. Although even on those it's still an open debate, even at my university some professors said to wear them and some not to wear them, so yeah. I personally avoid gloves on high-speed cutting/drilling tools, but when using a belt sander or a bench grinder I prefer to wear them.
@NuclearSnailStudios6 жыл бұрын
well.. i prefer to keep anything fabric as far away as possible from anything high-powered that has moving parts :D

Nuclear Snail Studios I do too, and I also pull my hair back in a braid and shove the ends under my belt to secure it. It's scary how many people with long hair forget to secure it. I heard about a guy who had a big chunk of scalp torn off that way, and it won't ever grow back.
@rubbers36 жыл бұрын
Yeah, you have to be careful with hair, I always tuck mine under a beanie just to be sure, even if I'm just using hand tools, they just get in the way. But gloves when grinding? Yeah, I like the skin on my fingers, I'll keep wearing them.

in the future, you need to melt through the elastic so the hole doesn't try to re open and it wont fray apart.

I would like to make this for a Comic-Con. But i think they would have an issue being metal. I am good at making foam look like metal. So I still would like to use this for my costume.
@NuclearSnailStudios6 жыл бұрын
they dont allow metal armour? what the truck man?
@GalthT6 жыл бұрын
Nuclear Snail Studios Yeah, it sucks. Even swords and certain type of weapons should be made of "safe" material. Which I can understand. But I want to use license plates and other things, car parts..ect. But I think I can figure a way to pull it off.
