Had a bunch of torn and worn baseball caps, removed the fabric from the plastic brims and stacked them like dragon scales, punched holes to do a samurai armor cross stitch with paracord to join the pieces and a buckle at the top attaches it to a leather cross body strap. Epic shoulder costume piece that was easy to do and basically cost me nothing.

When you added the elastic armband, I kept thinking to myself "Why not just lace part of the boot upper around your bicep?" Then I realized you need to be able to easily put this thing on one-handed. Remember practicality in your builds, guys!

I love the way you always specifically say that it "doesn't need to be red or leather"🤣🤣

I will be going to my first “Sheila Showdown” this year and the theme is “Apocalypse” your video was very informative! I am plus size and wondering if it will all fit the same but I am making this for sure! Thank you so much for the in depth tutorial! I will share once it’s done ☺️

Is it a protection for skates (especially knees) for the part attached to the boot?

Got my first run on the Junk yard. What do you think of cutting leather from car seats?

Should work just fine, I'd imagine. Anywhere you can find enough leather should be all right.

He said in another video that he supports taking leather from old couches, so go for it. Great idea!

Awesome build! 🤘🖤🤘 I was thinking maybe if you laid the belt on top of it and poked the holes through the belt then the leather, You can make sure all the bolts line up 🤷‍♂️

as a right handed person it is more useful to put the shoulders on the left side, right?
@sol4r3clips38
@sol4r3clips38 3 жыл бұрын
If you want realism, always the left side if you're only doing one. Since most people are right-handed, most melee attacks would come from there. Though, ultimately it doesn't really matter costume wise. Whichever feels most comfortable for you

do you reckon you could do a similar thing with a leather jacket as the base instead of a belt? & could you get away with using less like perhaps just the knee pad
@hottboy6712
@hottboy6712 2 жыл бұрын
yeah i did that and it turned out just fine put the pad lower on the jacket tho and i put a foot ball belt strap under it

Looks really cool, but don't the bolts prod into your skin while wearing it?

Notice how the bolts are facing OUT. He cuts them off. The inside is where the screw end goes, so there's no bolt to poke you.

I´m trying to do a car tyre shoulder pad but the damned thing keeps moving all around. Like the belt moves slightly up or down. It´s not much but it bugs me. Did that ever happen to you?
@creativeusernamehere8119
@creativeusernamehere8119 4 жыл бұрын
Myself, I took apart an old hockey shoulder pad set(Just used one side) and it also kept popping out. You could try to make new straps and make it tight so it doesn't move? Or even out weight distribution, or block it with other gear?

I was just going to use a metal bowl and dent it then hot glue rope on it to tie it around me and maybe a belt
