At 20:15 you started sounding like the tailor P.O.W. in the movie 'The Great Escape. It starred many great American and British actors from the mid-twentieth century, like Richard Attenborough, James Garner, Steve McQueen, and Charles Bronson. The scene in question is where they were making escape clothes to blend in with the German populace, from the blankets, sheets, and their own uniforms.

Just came here to say, I absolutely love and respect these videos to show people how to make these cool things, I do larp, and these kind of cosplay bits cost SO much money online and are out of most of peoples price range, and I’ve struggled to find tutorials on how to make these things myself until I stumbled upon this channel, it’s so nice to see someone sharing knowledge so people can try and be creative and have a go at making costume themselves!

A hood was the first piece of custom costuming I ever made for myself. I used the seat of an old pair of black denim jeans I still had. I quickly realized that it was big enough to cover my head twice over and still have material left over.

Dude you have a fantastic video style, very friendly, fun and relaxed. Look forward to seeing more. I've never done any post apo play or made any clothing ... But now I finally have a use for all my old paintball and Airsoft kit. Can't wait to get started on my very own butthood :-D

Cool, I especially love the butt-hood, because pants tend to get worn and faded on the butt, and kinda frayed along the upper edge of the waistband, so that makes a perfect fabric for a hood!

I think you could have attached the material along the hood flat, one on top of the other, with the first set of bolts rather than having to fold it over to get rid of the ridge.

Pls make a video about building some sort of chest armor. I'm looking for an inspiration to build fallout power armor'ish costume. I was thinking about getting american football chest protection as base for it, but it's hard to get it, in central europe, at reasonable price :D
@ApocGuy4 жыл бұрын
yeah, european market sucks big time. you could try to ask around ice hockey clubs if anyone is willing to sell you one of those old abused ones for cheap. not as bulky as american football one, but still good base for further modding. motocross protection is good base too, as long as you're willing to work with thick plastic ;) . that, or you cuold strip one of "robocop" anti riot police officer LOL.

@@NuclearSnailStudios It's the bolts on a hood just think how much more comfortable it would be. Yeah sewing can be tedious if you don't do it lots as until you get good it's slow and weirdly hard.

honest question - what about it? you can wear stuff on your head. what dont you understand / want to know exactly about headwear? not trolling just genuinely asking what you want to know cuz been getting that request a lot.
