this is really nice and fresh, im scared of gel as i was told you have to buff the surface to get it to adhere and thats what ruins my nails!

Joy Walsh Ooh no, you're right don't ever let anyone buff the surface of your nails. That's why I wanted to show the difference between the nourishing remover (which is supposed to be better for you but requires scraping) and the generic remover (which lifts it all completely without scraping) to show you that you shouldn't need to touch the nail-plate if you use the regular acetone remover. The only gentle scraping required is around the cuticle area, but as explained briefly in the tutorial, it's about holding the metal tool at the right angle so it lays flat again the nail and only removes whatever's raised (such as the old cuticle skin that grows up the nail) you never want to damage the surface.

Shonagh Scott would that explain why if im not buffing the nail the gel is lifting within 24hrs? I'm not removing the cuticle area so the gel isnt adhering to the surface?

im a beauty therapist and i did nails in the beginning of my training acrylic and gel nails .. its great to see you doing them.. i kind of stopped after a couple years as i carried on with beauty therapy to recieve my diploma... Nails are something you have to do more and more of to get really good at them.. i did them for 2years and i dnt even think that was enough.. its definately an art❤

I think if you're naturally artistic it's easy to pick things up. I've always enjoyed drawing and painting on paper, I just adapted it to faces and nails ☺👍🏼

I was wondering, what can I do to stop my nails from rejecting polish? Honestly I feel like my nails are like teflon. I have tried different pre treatments like scrub fresh, cndc cleaner, pink cleaner, I clean my nails with it, I tried soaking them in it, tried to roughen up my nails, smoothing them, with primer, without primer, 1 layer of base thick/thin/2 thin/2 thick/1 thick&1 thin. It still pops off like a false nail sometimes within an hour/day, sometimes after 4 days. Can anyone help me? Normal polish flakes off in an hour. Help!
