The original was recorded by Michael Massay on a Roland SCC1 sound card. This song was created by Bobby Prince using MIDI software for ID software on the game "DOOM". This was my remake of this origin

0:00 -1:30 You look up and see a field of flowers. Sitting amongst them is your rabbit, Daisy. You start to smile as you get up. However, you snap back to reality. The sight forces you back on your knees. The destruction, the red.. Daisy's head sits on a pike, as if her killers are trying to mock you for your failure. You feel yourself start to crumble as you grieve... 1:31-2:59 .. but only for a second. You get back up, picking up your gun and taking her head off the pike. In the distance, you see the hellspawn closing in. You strap her head to your belt with her ears. You give your gun a quick pump. You couldn't save her. *But you will save everyone else.*

First time I heard this, my jaw dropped. At first I was like "OK, one of those atmospheric orchestral tracks, sounds cool". But when the second half kicked in, I was completely blown away, and then the way the angelical choir comes on again and mixes it up a bit, brilliant. I love the duality of this track, the first half is dramatic and unsettling, and the second half is filled to the brim with despair, but also this sense of resolve and willpower, and it really shows how the same melody can have different meaning and emotion. Bravo, you did an amazing job with this track.

I believe this to be one of your most powerful pieces you've made for DOOM. You can feel the energy flowing with each chord strike, all the emotion you put into this piece. It's almost like you can feel Doomguy's rage underlining the score.
@crashingblow3753
@crashingblow3753 2 жыл бұрын
There is something about the soundtrack of the original Doom game that humanizes DoomGuy, who is now known as The DoomSlayer. Before he was known as this brutish, unstoppable, relentless, angry, warrior of violence and rage, the Doom marine was just a normal human like everyone else, stuck in a science facility in space overrun by demons. Who knows how he felt at that moment. He was either scared of the sight of the inhuman invaders, or he was feeling angry (and maybe even a little bit sad) at the sight of his friends and partners (if he had any) die in a violent and tragic way to these vicious and soulless monsters. No matter how he was feeling, one thing was certain. He knew he was all alone, there were too many of them out there, and only he was the man capable of purging the demonic invaders. When the soundtrack is not hitting you with these blood pumping, hype, head banging metal riffs you know and love like the one you hear in the first levels, you are hit by tracks like these which almost reflects the determination of this lonely marine to push onward through this horrifying onslaught of scary monsters, even if the odds are against his favor. It gives you this feeling of loneliness and determination. Which to me is very cool because it makes the Doom Slayer as a character feel more human. Don't get me wrong, I love the new Doom games and its music along with the new incarnation of the marine, but at the same time I love to remember a time when the Doom Marine was just a normal guy trying to live a normal life only for it all to be completely ruined by these horrible monsters from hell, and now he lives a life of violence, hatred, and anger while he is on a possibly never ending, raging crusade against the legions of hell. My point is, I love the feeling tracks like these give off.

When you combine this track with Z1M8 from Knee-Deep in zDoom, the result is godlike. The atmosphere of unyielding determination, the base slowly but surely becoming more and more demonically corrupted as the seconds pass, the feeling of hopelessness, and a desire to find whatever lies at the end and kick its ass so hard it'll be coughing up bootlaces and shoe-polish for months afterwards combined with a track that express that feeling of nearing the light at the end of the tunnel is a experience I cannot possibly hope to not recommend.

Being "modern and new" is insulting. music died in the early 2000's. this feels perfectly classic, not new.

Awesome!, I have to admit I used a fair few of your Doom remix's as influence and guide lines when I did a remix of my own for a project.

Fucking bad ass man! I just learned that you were responsible for the music in so many of the games I played when I was little. Thankyou! As a composer and musician myself now, I can appreciate this even more.

So you walk eternally through the shadow realms, standing against evil where all others falter. May your thirst for retribution never quench, may the blood on your sword never dry, and may we never need you again. - Corrax

Red skies.. Meteors crashing, buildings being demolished You watch, silently, as all you love is being destroyed before you.. This can’t be it? Can it? The climax begins, a massive hurricane of fire consumes all before it, as it approaches... You contemplate your fate.. This is it.

When this music came up in the fight with those two barons in brutal doom, the music managed to to sync up with the barons coming out with that heavy metal, with them roaring at me as it started, it made a boss fight in a such an old game feel so much more impactful, even if the boss was simply an introduction to a future rare common enemy

Proud to say DOOM was my first computer game and it got me into metal music in a way. I'd sit there after I beat a level and listen to the song for a long time before playing again. I was always like man it would be cool if someone would make the songs with real instruments. needless to say it became even a greater treasure trove of musical creation than I would have imagined possible back then.

This is what the final moments of earth will sound like. No hope... no matter what... no matter what you do... our glorious world... we are causing our own downfall... and we are destroying our home planet without a single bit of thought... and we will be eradicated by the greatest enemy...............ourselves...

eh i think the true point of this song is to make it feel like you're doing all that for nothing and that you're walking into a death sentence which is literally true since doomguy dies at the end of the level
