For anyone watching this in 2024, I have used this machine (& I'm calling it a machine for a reason) for around 10 years with VDJ8 and it has NEVER let me down. I do manly parties and weddings, no drivers or updates to worry about it's a great wee workhorse, you can't really see it on this video but it's a lot brighter in a darker environment, essentially the rings around the jog wheels, if you have any questions re this machine, hit me up on here, ❤

Ok, thanks just wanted to make sure, back in May I heard that it wouldn't be a fully functional quad and when I contacted Numark in July they said they couldn't talk about it, I had to wait until it was released. Glad you did the video so I can hear it from someone who has it instead of someone who is promoting it.

Arturo Zelcius You have to purchase the full version of Virtual DJ from their website. Then you can use it with the Mixtrack Quad.

Mtg Loeg This does not come with a full version of any software, but you will be able to DJ with the intro version of the software without any issues. It doesn't shut off on you or anything after a certain time... it just doesn't have all the features... Most DJ's don't even need all the features honestly...

hi how did you get virtual dj with the bundle as i only got serato and that does not work very well

It's VDJ LE which is the non pro version of the software and it comes bundled with a brand new unit. I still like Serato DJ Lite better than that though...

In case you want to mix more than two tracks at a time or in case you want to cue up other tracks to have them ready while the others are playing.

Yes, type in the serial number code on the paper disc case when you register for virtual dj. I'm pretty sure you probably found that out by now, though.

USB cable to computer. Then you need to go to the Numark website and download the .TSI traktor mapping file so that you can import it into the Preferences section of Traktor Pro 2...

ermir Mitrushi Sorry, I am not going to make a new video about it. You have to go to the Numark website and download the Traktor File for your Controller. Then you open traktor and go to the Preferences. Then you click Import at the bottom of the preferences and then you apply the new file that you downloaded. Then go to the Controller manager section in the preferences and select the Mixtrack as your controller. That should be it...

Thank you for your time and your expertise. I am having trouble with the speakers! I am not sure if I have to get different speakers or the ones I have are good for this controller? I am using a X-540 Logitech speakers, since these are the only speakers I have. Please advise. Thank you in advance.

Kato Kato You would have to get some adapters to plug the speakers directly into the RCA ports of the controller. They won't work for DJing while connected directly to the computer...

Kato Kato You need adapters that change the current connector you have to RCA. I don't know exactly what cable or adapter you need. The store will help you. I don't know about the tool kit either... Sorry.

This actually has more features than the Pro 2 like the lighted jog wheels and color pads. They are almost the same besides this and the number of channels.

Mixtrack Quad has more functions. And they are both plastic, but the ddj sb has an aluminum platter.

David Ha Sure there are others out there for beginners. You can also check out the Pioneer DDJ-SB or the newer Numark Mixtrack Pro III that is coming out soon. Then there is the Denon MC2000 or the Reloop Beatmix 2 or Beatmix 4. Those are some good beginner controllers for a good price.

DJ Dremora You need an RCA to Mini adapter so you can plug the speakers into the RCA ports on the controller. Then you can still use your headphones.

Many say that the learning curve isn't too different. A lot of beginners love the pro 2, but I decided to take on the challenge to use the quad. But as Kareem said, it depends on how many channels you need.

I got this... but I don't like the effects. Especially the LP filter. It's way too grainy for me. Also I feel like there is a lot more lag compared to using a traktor or pioneer table making it hard to do some technical stuff.
