Also I just found out about the crazy huge new ddj-sz, I am leaning towards that mostly because it looks so flashy compared to the ns7ii (I know it sounds foolish but for a amateur enthusiast, sometimes the lights and design of these units can really sell the unit!!!) Thank you for this wicked review! Loved the orig ns7! I've had native instr traxtor s4 for a while now and don't like it as much as a vinyl turntable system! Pitch faders are too loose and short. This unit looks sturdy and would be next best thing to vinyl system.

I just made the jump from denon mc2000 to the ns7 first editior (budgeting......baby steps) But I Actually used this review and test with this controller and my god it's a huge difference the ns7 now has serato dj 1.6 which works well in windows 8

I have been thinking about getting a set of these - have been mixing vinyl since the late 90's! The main selling point for me is the spinning platters that feel like vinyl. It seems to be hard to find many Digital Controllers that have this feature in 2016 (maybe I am looking in the wrong places)

Nope, they don't really make them like that... I know Denon is also known for making decks with spinning platters and they are coming out with some new decks soon so check those out...

Very informative review! I just purchased my NS7II today. I'd like to get some feedback on an small issue that I have. When I'm mixing with moving platters and I let go of the vinyl, it seems as if it delays the music by a 0.5 second. So I tried to tighten the screw on the 45 adapter but that vinyl still feels 'too loose'. I know some DJ's like the loose feel to accomplish that tight scratch but I like to hear the music the moment my hand leaves the vinyl. Any thoughts? Original NS7 was not an issue.

This controller is still one of the top two in the game in my opinion. Nothing has really come out to change how good this is. The new NS7III is going to be the same as this but with the added screens. If you buy this, you can simply buy the screen attachment for about $350 and turn it into the new one. So this is definitely very current.

***** viewed some of your ddj-sx review what's good, great review does the regular Pioneer ddj-sx have good scratching on those jog wheels for instrumental/vox & acapella scratching capability cause it's around $600 -$1000 via vs. $1500 Numark ? just making sure the scratching is better on NuMark before I purchase it, does Pioneer scratch well ? cause they also have a great colors gold and white edition essentially? lol

+Melkin Ramos Motorized platters make it a *lot* easier to pull off turntablism techniques like scratching and beat juggling. It also looks cool as hell. If you don't care about any of that then jogwheels will get the job done.

Hi Kareem, It sounds like an amazing machine , recently I have found an used NS7 II less than AUD 400 , I am bit worried about the software support as it will work until Serato DJ pro version 2.3.1 and it is almost 10 years old model. Do you still recommend for NS II. or should consider DDJ SX2/SX3 which works with latest Serato version according to Serato website. please help to to take a decision. I am a beginner and wondering will I miss any interesting feature other than stems . Please help me to take a decision. I am using Numark Platinum FX at the moment.

This is still great today, but you won't be able to use the newest Serato with it unfortunately.... I think some people found a workaround to make it work, but I don't have the info on that. You will lose out on some features but still can be used for Pro DJ use.

+Gerald Burbank There is a knob on the side of the job wheel that is starting slow that adjusts the brake speed and startup speed. You need that knob to be in the fastest setting.

dont know about the idea that Serato Dj is better than ITCH, itch only was missing the Izotope effects if they would have added that to itch it would run rings around Serato Dj, Serato Dj still has a lot of bugs!!!! dont work well with V7's. and in the sampler section you cant even change the banks or trigger them from the hot cues like you could with itch??? maybe in the future Serato Dj will have these features that ITCH now has and is stable!!! I'll Wait!!!! Also im using the Ns7.. and have worked with the Ns7 II. Great Review though bro straight to the point!!!

i know your a big fan of the NS7 controller type as apposed to the ddj sx/sz type due to the spinning platters. but why is it that the ns7 controller has so few youtube mixes online vs th ddj product line? The plethora of these videos makes it seem like the DDJ lineup is better. your thought?

+1nenachulapr Download and install the NS7 II drivers from the Numark website, then download and install Serato DJ. That's all there is to it. You can also download and install the firmware from the Numark website but that's optional. Only difference I noticed from updating the firmware is that it made the MPC pads more colorful (before they were just all red).

Do the mic inputs not work for anyone else? Even with gain cranked to max I can't get any sound out of any of my mics. Do I need to buy a microphone amp? Right now I have to plug it into my PC's sound card as a workaround.

I love the concept numark had but... I bought this unit a year ago and had to send it back 3 times since, they've sent me 2 new units after repairs. Really gave it a shot with numark, but after a few months things went down hill, first thing to go will be the crossfader which will bleed, next will be malfunctioning mpac pads and other internal issues. I was very upset and disappointed with this unit since i spent about 2gs for the unit and flight case. Trust me if you are considering buying this unit, i gig out over 3 times a week and really put it to the test, fader crapped out twice already, both on brand new units. Now im stuck with a brand new ns7ii and im having trouble reselling it. Us djs work hard for our money and this is unacceptable for the amount of money they are asking for, I would've appreciated a full refund after all i went through but numark declined and just sent me a new unit. Never buying NUMARK again 👎

I don't get it when people say it's so big. Word? bigger then 2 turntables and a mixer? Please understand who this kit is for. It's freakin' small!!! Compact as sh!t! When people say mobile DJ nowadays, do they really mean backpackers? A Mobile DJ still has a car and you could carry this in a Nissan Micra EASY!! To me this is THE PERFECT KIT for the mobile dj. This and a laptop and YOUR DONE. Only real downside is the price tag. But again if you look at the alternative (2turntables and mixer and probably a midi controller) it's a freakin bargin! John clarke nonsense! Without DVS Turntables and mixers are a thing of the past! U can't rock a club for about 6 to 7 hours with that old school style of constant vinyls scratching! With the old school style, functionalities are limited and it makes the party boring! Fair enough if that's what u're into. Don't talk rubbish!
