Thanks for such a thorough review of the NS7ii. I have been contemplating changing up from my Rane 62 + Denon SC3900 because of some of the lack of support from Denon with Serato plus the Rane 62 and SC3900 is limited in taking advantage of some of the features of Serato DJ. Question for you TLM. Great videos by the way, I am learning a lot from you. My question is: Should I go for NS7 II or TRAKTOR S8? I am a beginner and I have been using TRAKTOR S2 for over a year now. I love everything about what I see about the NS7 II and even tested it at Guitar Center Store however I don't scratch and that is why I'm indecisive also I'm more familiar with TRAKTOR Software and Not so much Serato. My Gigs are more Spanish or Latin clubs. Thank you for your support.
@djTLMtv8 жыл бұрын
+vicant1000 I can't really help you out with that decision, but those are two extremely different controllers. One has spinning platters and the other has no jogwheels at all! If Traktor is what you prefer to use and you're not planning on doing any scratching, the S8 could work great for you.

Hey, I have been looking at your cool vids but I haven't seen a review on the V7. Can you explain how effective do you think it is?
@1Twisteddj9 жыл бұрын
I've owned the Numark V7's and the Denon 3900's with the DJM T1 mixer. But this all in one is a beast!! I know people who own the Numark NS7, and have recently switched to Serato DJ. Some want to upgrade to the new NS7II, but these are not cheap items. So my solution to a friend of mine, get the Pioneer DDJ-SP1 and add it to the NS7/ NS6, it's almost equals the NS7II, minus touch capacity. If you can, would you make a video about these type of money savings options?? The DDJ-SP1 is a much cheaper option if you can't buy the newer controller.
@DJJRCO9 жыл бұрын
Edward Lair I own 2 V7's with the numark X5 mixer, the NS7 MK1 & NS7II. Definitely not cheap after getting these over the years, but for those who have the NS7 but don't need 4 channels the ddi sp1 is the best solution i recommended to a friend awhile back. Another thing I might do is get the AKai AMX & AFX to pair up with the V7's as they are now collecting dust. Albeit this would cost a bit more than the ns7+sp1 combo. But i did get the NS7II and V7's working together which was really cool.
@1Twisteddj9 жыл бұрын
+MTLSinCity well, since you have them, have you tried simply adding the sp1 with you v7's and X5 set up. the result should be the same as with the ns7 mk1, just more cords to connect. Keep me posted on you experiments . Thanks for chiming in, i love talking gear with like minded folks. Peace.
@1Twisteddj9 жыл бұрын
on another note, linking the v7's together as normal, but no RCA's then connecting the master to the computer, and hooking up a rane 62 mixer, the v7's become control platters with on time code needed. selectors work, cues work, effects work on both the v7's and the Mixer. So if you know any on with the 62 and crappy turntables, this is a great option, you could sell them and recoup at least some of your hard earned cash.

I didn't do too much. I adjusted the crossfader curve to be as sharp as it can be. Do you think your fader is the problem? Or is it the way the platters respond? You may have to adjust the buffer size to improve the response, but that only works if your computer can handle that.

Personally, if u just have to have vinyl and want the experience of changing the vinyl in your mixes, then this won't give u that thrill. If you want the thrill of mixing vinyl without changing from record to record, then this is perfect. Plus, you can always add turntables to the controller bc it has a mixer to control them. I love that idea.

If you’re looking for a fullsize controller with moving platters an NS7 is still a good option. Probably go with the mk3. I'm like you, grew up on the 1200s. Just sold a pair a few months back and I only did that because I had 2 setups and wasn't using the 1200s. I transitioned to using CDJs about 5 years ago. Started with the Denon 3500s then upgraded to the Denon 3700 and when the 3900s hit the streets I picked up a set. I can honestly say that the feel of the 3900s are the closes any company has come to having a CDJ feel like a traditional industry standard turntable. If you get the chance to demo a pair I strongly suggest you do and do a review on-line, you will not be disappointed. These decks are pretty awesome and don't get the respect they deserve because they are not the recognized standard equipment in the clubs. On another note. I plan on picking up a pair of the new Pioneer PLX 1000 professional turntables. I have read nothing but good things about them. I did make a comment on one of the sites that I wished they would have internalized the ground wire. Thanks for getting back to me and keep up the great work.

Question...I just got this controller and I was curious if there was any way to hold the pitch stable while messing with tempo. Pitch bend is very evident even at the smallest tempo tweak (a good thing I guess) but my old controller had a button next to the tempo that would hold the pitch constant. Is there any such thing on this controller or on Serato? I have to be missing something.. Thanks!

Hi, I've been using Pioneer controllers and CDJs for quite a while and have never done anything with vinyl or DVS. Considering the fact that I'm at the very begining of my DJ road and there is a lot of fundamentals yet to be understood, is it really advisable to get a NS7ii? I've never thought about seriously making DJing my career (I'm still in University, and my subject has nothing to do with music at all) but I do want to master it as a hobby and eventuelly help some friends out with their parties. P.S.: A more specific question: does the jog wheel of NS7ii work the same way like a real vinyl? I mean like adjusting speed, do I have to do it like I would have done on a vinyl but not like on a Pioneer machine?

djTLMtv Btw, do you have any information about NS7III? I'd like to know if it's worth to wait for this mashine.

thx dj tlm for your honest reviews which i've seen all but i have a trouble mixing with ns7ii cause i have an ddj sz and before it i have an ddj sx so got used to nudge the ddj sz platters to adjust the beat while mixing 2 songs together which i cant figure it out with the ns7ii moving platters as when i touch them to nudge or fine-tune the beat it stops and makes the mix off beat . any idea
