Thanks for another great video Roger! Snowplowing on bare floors is easily remedied if the manufacturer provides a floor brush with a single central bristle strip combined with a pair of wheels or a roller at the back below the neck. It astounds me that vac-makers have not learned this simple design concept for making a better floor brush. Hoover and Panasonic did this way back in the 1980’s and it has been proven to work on hard floors really well. A single strip down the middle of the suction channel allows you to pick up both on the front stroke as well as the back stroke.

The stair problem has been sorted with the Henry Reach, but there are many cheap stair hoses available including stretch ones and ridged versions. I have a 5 metre hose that fits all my Henrys.

It has a postmotor hepa filter. The big red filter is post not pre as you can se as the motor blow air out of the side then throught hepa filter and then out the back of the machine.

I love when you put an extreme amount of dirt down. Gives the best demonstration of what regular usage will be like. That being typed, I AM IMPRESSED. I want a vacuum from the Henry family SO BAD. you can't really " designed to last " the filter when it depend on the usage and conditions. but a great vacuum cleaner, I have 2 Numatic pph 320-11 vacuum cleaners, so that I can have one down stairs, and one up stairs, I cannot fault them.

Did anyone who lives in the North West region see on Granada Reports a news story about some school kid from Maghull who has a house full of Henry Hoover's and other vacs like Dyson?. Apparently he's obsessed with Dyson hoovers and wants to be an engineer. There was a shelf full of old Numatic Henry's, including a white one (a very early model I believe), an Henry with red lettering, an orange one (I think that was named Bertie which B&Q sold). I wonder where he got all those from?. I noticed that Tesco are selling an "Henry Family". Looked on Amazon but they don't seem to sell them. Looked up all the Henry vacs on wikipedia, which lists the now discontinued models, but it doesn't mention an Henry Family. To me it looks like a regular Henry with a few minor accessories included and they are selling them for 140 quid, yet the standard Henry is currently selling for £99. Won't be much difference in performance.

I don't think so. The idea is that you repair it, rather than replace the entire unit. My Henry has been going strong for 30 years, so I think you'll be OK!

on 11:48 it looks like the post motor doesnt filter a lot, you can see the light contrast of the floor looking through the fabric. This should be H13 ?Are there any tests out there to proof if its better in dust retention than the other henry canisters? also it looks like it has only the Tritex filter, not the Microtex which seems to be slightly better.

Just about to buy this model but I'm worried it looks a bit flimsy and as you mentioned toy like. I've heard the later models are nowhere near as powerful as the originals. I've an early red model in my garage. It just stopped working. It was brilliant and so powerful. I understand there is a simple fix for it on KZbin but not got a handyman in the family so considering a replacement but don't want an under powered model.can you advise please. Are all new Henry's less powerful than previous models?

All the current Henry models have less suction than the older models. but still more suction than a lot of cleaners you can buy today.

The reduction in power is due to new regulations limiting the size of vacuum cleaner motors in Europe. I think the limit is now 900W and due to decrease further soon. However vacuum design, technology and efficiency of motors has come on quite a bit so you probably won't notice a significant difference between a new and old Henry.

HEPA filters are (unless explicitly stated as such) never washable, despite what people may tell you. Washing it only serves to break the fibres or increase the gaps between the fibres. This means that while more air passes through after washing... so also more particles. And given that's the express reason you'll have bought it in the _first_ place, it would appear to rather defeat the object - a bit like shooting yourself in the foot. 😖 It's also worth noting that mould spores, while large enough to be caught in HEPA filters, stay alive on the filter surface, so getting it wet generally appears to be rather a bad idea... HTH.

You need someone else to hold the other tube and both twist in the opposite direction to separate them. Failing that you could run hot water on the tubes where they join and pull them apart.

No, as I mentioned in the video the Henry Allergy has been redesigned internally to fit the new filter. You can’t fit the pleated hepa filter to regular Henrys.

I don’t think it’s flimsy, but you may notice a slight drop in quality over older models but still better than most Chinese made stuff. I suggest you look at the Henry Clean Air that comes with the same allergy filter but additional cleaning tools for £40 less. It's a shame that EU chooses to NERF vacuum cleaners for no reason whatsoever. I would be sold if it was a 1200 Watt, 2 speed version but no way I am spending money on any 600 Watt vacuum cleaner.

The latest EU compliant Henry’s clean better than the older versions in my experience. Don’t think that if and when we finally leave the EU we will get higher wattage machines back because that regulation is likely to stay in place unless the UK government revoke it.

The 620 watt motor has just as much airflow if not more than the older version. The new design floor tool picks up a lot deeper. I use a James at work and can fill the bag until it's a 2kg brick almost.

You'd be surprised how powerful the 620w motors are! I've measured 108.39 CFM from the hose beating out many higher wattage machines.
