Now this is Numatic for my taste. I have high pile shag rugs and powerhead canister or upright is the only way to get those rugs clean. I really like this silent Numatic powerhead. My personal favorite is the Sebo ET-1 with the Airbelt K-series canister.

Henry Hound always had the push button switch and no hi low switch. Henry Hound has always been single speed .And the Henry Hound in the UK had the same switch as this one. Your'e Henry Hound was made on the 11th week of 2007. Henry Hound always Had 2 vents on the side. The UK version was model HHR200-2 but the Canadian version HHR200. And it does have the odour reducing filter.

The thicker wire is due to the fact this vacuum is designed for 120 volts. I know that probably doesn't make sense, but you will get increased resistance with the lower voltage, resulting in an increased current draw. More current = more heat hence the thicker cable.
@ibaisaic6 жыл бұрын
All the 120 volt vacuum cleaners I have imported from the USA have regular thin cables. This cleaner was intended for commercial use which may explain the higher grade mains lead.
@MonoChorMe3 жыл бұрын
The reason the cable becomes hot/warm when its coiled is because, it basically starts acting like a transformer (like an electromagnet due to induced EMF and a thing know as "Eddie currents")... To prevent Eddie currents, that is the reason actual transformers use a magnet that quenches the excess flux of Eddie currents. That is also the reason some cleaners have a label telling the user to always unwind the cable before operating the cleaner. Little bonus tip: If you've always wanted to feel how electricity travels through a cable (without being zapped - obviously), what you can do is, take a powerful magnet (neodymium) like the ones you find in hard drives, and simply apply/get near with the magnet to the cable flex; while the appliance is turned on, and you will then "feel" the electricity - without actually being zapped by it. You'll feel something of a vibrating sensation on the magnet - if done correctly.

Since getting my Numatic James, I've been very impressed with the tremendous amount of suction and Airflow it has, and even when the bag was full, it never lost a lot of suction and Airflow. And I always use a vac freshener disc in the filter compartment of James, and have folded a disc over recently and done same with our DC40, it's great as it's like your freshening the air at the same time as vacuuming. I feel that the airflow on James is far higher than on the DC40, can tell a difference in carpet pile and colour too, I use the airobrush with mine, best turbo brush I've ever used.

Although this may detract from it's appeal for what it is, it would probably be worth swapping out the motor for a 240 volt UK motor. Something to consider is that whilst you've dropped the voltage, the frequency its expecting is 60Hz, but in the UK we have a 50Hz system. As silly as this sounds, incorrect frequencies regardless of voltage, can have consequences. Nice vacuum though!
@ibaisaic6 жыл бұрын
Many of the vacuum cleaners I own state they are suitable for 50 to 60Hz and I am told that the vast majority of electric motors will work on different frequencies with no consequences. I would need to swap over more than just the motor to convert this cleaner to UK voltage
@AfterDark334 жыл бұрын
Alex Smith Since all (I don’t know if any brushless corded vacs) are brushed universal motors, they are self commutating. You may not understand what this means, but in practice this will work on any frequency electricity of appropriate voltage or even 120 Volts DC (although the switches aren’t rated for DC use).

13:54 That symbol is CSA. CSA Stands for Canadian Standards Association (CSA Group). They make the workplace safety laws in Canada and in this case, the Standard for Electrical Safety in the Workplace. So there's your answer. This vacuum I do believe is Canadian and not American. Canada and the USA have the same electrical system. If it was from the USA, it would have a Underwriters Laboratory (UL) sticker on it.
@WJCTechyman6 жыл бұрын

I was under the impression the warm cords on Henrys was due to its close proximity to the motor, the old Henrys use around 6 amps and the new ones use around 3 (on 240v). I’d have thought neither current is enough to heat the cable up significantly as it’s rather thick and likely has a high cross section.
@Jonathan_Doe_2 жыл бұрын
The heating is due to a coiled up wire essentially acting as an air core transformer. There’s a reason coil type extension leads always have a ‘coiled max amps’ and ‘uncoiled max amps’ listed on them.

I wonder where Nacecare got that power nozzle. It’s unlike any we’ve seen before. The factory in Canada must import the main cleaner from the UK with all the electrical wiring for North America installed, then Nacecare adds the power hose, wands and carpet nozzle. Similar to how Electrolux sent Volta cleaners to Eureka in the USA ready to be married to Eureka power nozzle systems. You’ll always know it’s your Canadian vacuum by the green colour - just like our maple leaves in summertime!

A you might have seen nacecare do one of the professional models with a SEBO powerhead, I keep thinking that creating a powerhead numatic using a 600w model with front mounted switches (replacing the indicator light with a PTO socket). and it's 11th week 07, on numatics to work ot the date (assuming it has a serial number older ones don't) it's the first 4 digits of the serial, the first 2 being the year and the second 2 the week. And yes all henrys of that era look like that, we have a couple of twin speed models at work that looks the same. And as for air fresheners, we have used urinal freshening grates that go between the filter and the motor and they work really well. www.vectairsystems.com/products/washroom/v-screen-urinal-screens/ And the yellow plugs just push in and are not THAT big. we have a mix of the 16A and 32A blue version of the connectors at work and the 32A is about twice the size of the yellow ones. Also building sites don't jut use 110V, it's basically +/- 55V RMS with a RMS voltage of 110V, this means there is never any more than 50v in respect to earth which is very unlikely to do any harm.

@spencerwilton58314 жыл бұрын
That's not My name Yes, domestic supply is 230 volts nominal, usually we get about 245 volts. Makes life easier as even high power appliances like dryers can be plugged into any outlet. Things like heaters, kettles, dryers etc can be rated upto 3kw making them faster to heat than us products. The plugs are bigger as they contain a fuse, and are widely considered to be the safest in the world.
