Lmao, so according to you, it is easy to summon 4 lvl 4 warrior in one turn and successfully special summon number 86? If this happen, the game *was already lost*. in 99% of the scenario where this could be summoned, ARK + Blade Armor would be better. ATM most decks play 2 Black Horns and 1 Warning. *Also this card is currently OCG exclusive where they ahve 3 torrential, 1 warning, 1 Jugement.* This card is not even half as good as Exciton and ARK and the rank 7's.

Didier Morin ok so you in ocg torrential does nothing against this because of its eff, and jundgment plus warning you pay a lot life points to stop this summon and all of the warrior decks now can make this battlin boxers easy, heroics of course easy, tellaknight easy, or just any level 4 spam deck with dna sugery like i dont know the star seraph deck, and i have gotten this card out by 1st, 2nd or 3rd turn without losing any hand advantage so obviously its not that hard to get out plus how is 101 better if it only takes out 1 or 2 monsters but it cant target ot beat over 86 and exciton what are you saying its agood card but you deal any damage plus your opponent needs to have more cards than you to activate it so that a big downside, but 86 boom no field for you no summons no dark hole no banish no nothing plus 3k+ to the face

1: You're supposed to Torrential the warriors on the field before the opponent XYZ, it would be insanely stupid not to get a free +3/+4 card advantage with a single trap card. If you thought Torrential was meant to be used after the opponent XYZ summon (especially since warriors' got Lead Yoke, ARK, Exciton, Omega that laughs at Torrential) you really should consider learning the basics of the game. 2: Paying Life Points is FREE because you don't lose any card advantage. Basically in this situation, using Warning or Solemn wins you the game with an amazing +3/+4 taking advantage of a risky play from the opponent. Not to mention Black Horn (which is played in triples here atm) is free and does stop this guy's summon. It is more than questionable that, for you, paying 2000 life points is not worth getting rid of 4-5 monsters. 3: Your opponent should never be able to summon 4-5 monsters, otherwise you lost the game anyway. If the opponent has such an advantage over the game, he should end it instead of going into such an overrated card (risky play) 4: Any combo that relies on a Continuous card (DNA surgery) will ALWAYS fail. MST's are played in triples, monsters do pop backrows in every single deck now and people side Dust Tornado and Twister. DNA is good because it stops certain deck, it should be in the side deck, not the main deck unless X deck that suffers fro DNA becomes THE thing to play. 5: If you think the fact Exciton cannot deal damage the turn he uses his effect makes it not a better card that this, you have a long way to go... I don't want to be mean, but according to your comment you sound like those guys going to locals every week always sitting in the last tables and not showing any desire to improve as a player. The reasons why this guy is only an okay card are very basic and should be quite obvious to most players.

Dat Logix ok your 3rd point is quite inaccurate. cause everyone i know and everyone i face on DN do this when they can end for game. Summon 4 monsters (those alone generally end it if they attack) but they go into xyz plays and constantly keep playing on the turn they could win. so all they do is show off. TBH i hate it when people do that cause 1 you summoned all those monsters and didnt attack? *bottomless the xyz, black horn the synchro play* oh wait i just screwed you over from winning now i made a come back. People do this all the time they just wanna show off their deck. That is why if i cant get around their field and i know i will lose if they attack 1 time i quit on my turn so i can get into the next duel quicker.

If you'd read the beginning of the card, you'd see it loses materials every turn, so if your opponent goes for the full 5 monsters required for its summon, you just have to stall for 2 turns. Also, it's apparently named after a spear wielded by King Arthur.

Well, warriors isn't the deck that plusses the most, and you have to lose at least 2 cards from your hand. You'd have to sacrifice a lot of consistency in order to make 86 "broken" with pendulums. Pendulums are good. In an appropriate deck, like scraps or gadgets. They are not splashable, as they are, for now, an at least 7 cards engine. An if you play that in warriors, chances are you won't have 5 warriors in hand anytime soon.

Shadow Imprisoning Mirror and Number 86 are a great combination. Aside from the 5th effect, the only other effect to actually activate would be its end phase effect to detach a material. Shadow Imprisoning Mirror would negate that effect every turn and make it to where he can keep all materials under him. And with 4 materials, the effect would keep the opponent from summoning anything, period. This was actually confirmed by 3 judges at a regional I attended, so I discovered and confirmed this by accident during mid play.

the deal with that card is that you have to detach material from it every turn, which means it gets weaker and weaker. So the only way to stop it is surviving a few turns until you can handle it.

Its effect prevents you from normal or special summoning so first turn you will be forced to set after it wipes your field. The heroic challenger player will most likely have a answer to your set card. The heroic challenger player will only be able to get off the "Destroy all cards your opponent controls" move once due to its material detaching so Marshmallon is a good side deck card to help you stall out even though its a bit unlikely you will be able to stall for three turns with it so that you can destroy it with card effects. Its worth noting that you -can- tribute it despite it being immune to card effects. Not like anyone would seriously side Ectoplasmer against this card.

So, I know I haven't played Yugioh in years but WTF happened? Trap cards are apparently not a thing anymore, everyone can summon like 40 thousand things a turn, this monster can destroy everything you control, you can't summon or special summon, you can't use spells, effects or traps on it, it can't be destroyed by battle even if you somehow get a monster out and buffed... What? I swear it's like DBZ in card form, they just make things more and more overpowered to counter the last overpowered thing.

Power creep + innovation + more power creep happened. The next card, or archetype, has to be better than the last, or why buy it. This is the result of years and years of business + lazy/negligent/(not knowing the ultimate ramifications)/(possibly, ingeniously, intentional) card design for new cards. As someone else who got out of the game, say, 2008, and recently end of 2016 found YGO pro and got back in. I must say. This is better. I wish some of my old favorite cards were viable, but finding a creative way to build a decent deck has never been more fun. Even if you still lose to the meta.

Overpowering it with Honest, attack boosted monsters, ZW Utopia, or Knoble Knights with 5 equips. This card is slightly harder to deal with than Venominaga Diety of Poisonous Snakes as you are forced to set your monsters and survive a nuke. It counters Lava Golem, which makes it nice. Space Cyclone targets Xyz materials not the monster. That is another option. And Skill Drain is everywhere these days. If you have Skill Drain face up before the summon of 86, it will have no effects. And it's bloody obvious you should flip dat drain when they have 5 monsters on board.

So you know..... You can do any of the following.. 1. Negate the summon 2. DNA surgery to non warriors so it can't even be played 3. Lock the field to prevent more monsters from being summoned (summon limit/ kaiser/ ground collapse) 4. Drop an honest or swift scarecrow to eat time 5. Play that trap card called Stygian Dirge to make it impossible to xyz summon him. I'm sure there's other ways. The card is easy to stop once you know it's coming :/

Number 86 has only 1500 atk and defense normally. It gained 2000 atk because a monster effect one of the xyz material used to xyz summon, which would mean u can summon a monster on the 3rd and stall

Yes and Quasar is easier to summon yet doesn't do much. Last time I heard about Quasar topping an event it was a 120 players Regional's last year. It is starting to get some play because of Soul Charge but none made it past table 40 yesterday in Montreal (new Quasar plants engine).

Number 86 card only gets certain effects for the number of material attached. During the end phase it loses a material and gets a new effect hence the no normal or special summoning. On the next turn you can activate Dark Hole, Lighting Vortex, Raigeki, etc...

It all depends on the wording. If it would have said in the last phrase "the effects" instead of "this effect" then I would have been correct. Those are all situational, and tho that scenario can come up, the process to even get close to even 4 would be too situational. Dude, I seriously get how strong the card is on field and how easy it is to get out granted your opponent has nothing in response to any of it, then yes it can and will be unstoppable with the right build. But a good player is gonna know when that card is gonna be attempted to be summoned and should take the right precautions ahead of time. And its a best 2/3. You're not gonna be stupid about it next round if you lost to it round 1

The best way to stop 86 is to have Solemn Warning. Just personally my opinion, Konami should bring back solemn warning and maybe bring warning back to 2. I honestly think Konami should allow players to have a chance to protect themselves from the upcoming Pendulum Summoning which many decks will benefit from. Plus I'm sure in the future there will probably be a meta deck that will be mainly focused on Pendulum Summoning.

Malefics would rip this thing apart. High Attack + Skill Drain (this works only if skill drain is out before number 86) + New Field Spell makes it easy to stall out or destroy this.

It doesn't negate all kinds of summoning, just normal and special. You're still able to synchro, xyz, fusion, ritual, etc..

Stall decks that use things like roar or one day of peace will be able to camp it out, since those cards affect the player, not any monster. But all the usually foolproof outs seem like they's slip off of this thing. All my other ideas come down to monsters though. That no summon effect is really painful. Gadgets can still pitch scarecrow I guess. Oh, I believe you could still set a monster through that effect. But you wont get to normal/special for 2 turns, since he detatches during the end phase. Hopefully he minuses hard enough to summon that he doesn't have anything left to bring out next turn and overrun your feild. It's pretty strong, but a full Lightsworn JD/Lightray/Dragon Ruler rush would be pretty similar in terms of hoplessness to defend against. I'm only worried about the ease of summoning. That Heroic move seemed pretty simple to execute, even if it's a minus. Rota's at 2 as well. And since it's an xyz, it's a crazy option that you can have and don't need to force your deck to exist around. I think even making it with 2 cards would be fine. 4 and you still block summoning. That guarenteed summon block once it hits the feild is really painful. Well if I think of it like Quasar ++, for only warriors, then I guess it's ok. Game 2, better side in a bunch of traps to stop it from appearing. There's really not much most decks can reasonably do if this hits the feild at full power. Reminds me of Haze Beast Basilcock. Or whatever it was called.

The new dragon ritual monster, plus honest plus the ritual spell to summon that dragon in grave stops it. Sounds situational but in a herald deck it's actually fairly consistent to pull of.

Has everyone forgot about Black Horn of Heaven? As of stopping this monster while it's on the field, Needle Ceiling to prevent him from gaining more materials. Otherwise, might as well as use Spirit Reaper and sit on his ass until Number 86 has no more Overlay Unit. Other than that, if you want to prevent your opponent from going into Number 86, then you HAVE to stop the summon. Otherwise, have fun dealing with the monster.

The only way I see to get around this card is lava golem. If I recall correctly, the vennominaga ruling says that her protection doesn't cover lava golems effect. Lava golem and other from hand tributes using your opponents cards don't count as monster effects. They are costs.

Threatening Roar / Wobaku can be chained to its summon, and it won't be able to attack / deal battle damage to you that turn. After a few turns it will start to lose it's abilities. Threatening Roar / Wobaku, provided they aren't negated, is a good way to dodge an OTK as well.

T-Roar doesn't affect opponent's monsters, only the opponent him/herself. I know; I've had T-Roar used against my Constellar Omega (which can make itself unaffected by spells/traps), and I was unable to attack with it despite its effect.

At the end of each of your End Phases, it loses one of its Xyz Material. So when it first comes out with that 5+ effect, it's pretty awesome. But then the next turn, it'll only have the 4+ effect because it loses an Xyz Material. And then the next turn, you'll be able to Normal/Special Summon again. Then on the turn after that, it's affected by card effects again. So it's basically a game of Set and Stall.

The design of the card really implies that the makers didn't expect that people would be able to get the max number of xyz materials so easily; otherwise there's no way that they would have made a rank 4 so powerful. That being said, I think the only real way to beat it is to keep it from being summoned with full effects. For example, trap/spells to keep your opponent from swarming right off the bat. With the popularity of such decks these days, I've found it greatly beneficial to prepare against that sort of strategy. I sometimes run Ground Collapse to great effect. Simply put, its power is directly proportional to the materials it has. Therefore, the best way to defeat it is to keep off/take off materials. As its effects make taking off materials incredibly difficult once its already on the field, the best time to affect it is before its summoned.

It's way too easy to stop it from hitting the field, and that's what stops it from being anywhere near T1 material. The only thing it has going for it is the surprise factor.

So I'm not going to say that this card is balanced cause hell most cards in YGO are unbalanced whether they are a good card or not. What I am going to say is that the person who is making this card has to commit really hard into making 86. This guy discarded 3 heroics in his hand just to make it using 3 different effs. Then on top of that he also had a normal set the previous turn. In this scenario all the opponent had to do was kill the set card and then it would end the problem. If you couldn't do that there are plenty of reasonable cards that could stop their summon shenanigans along the way. So... why don't people just worry about the step by step process rather than just take care of the monster...

I think the only way to "beat" full power Number 86 is to try and wait out its effect because it loses an Xyz unit at the end of each of your turns. The only real way to defend yourself is to use a card that cancels the battle phase completely after it loses the fifth Xyz unit.

A lot of people have beaten this guy when I use it specially because once you use up 5 or even more cards to summon him, you're left with almost nothing, so, if he sets a card, you destroy it and the next turn he can summon something to counter you, or set something else and then he can use card effects, etc. If you can beat this guy you basically win the game (unless your oponent draws something like Soul Charge which could bring another one of these) because he uses A LOT of cards to summon him. Like this guy did it (and like I usually do it) was: - 5 cards as Xyz material. - 3 cards in hand for Thousand Blades. And it leaves him with an empty hand. Don't get me wrong, No. 86 is extremelly powerful ( I had a lot of people rage quitting on me ), but it is not impossible to beat. Plus, it is REALLY funny to see people who don't know his effects trying to counter it. Oh and comparing to other cards, there are combos that are a lot more broken and a lot more easy to use, and are OTK, you can OTK with this dude but you'll probably have a hard time with that, usually wins with No. 86 are at least 2 turns.
