The NBA fan has not gotten better. Derrick White got fan votes because fans will simply vote for all the guys on their favorite teams and the Celtics are one of the more popular teams. Basically, all five Celtic starters were on that first fan vote list this year. They should not be taken seriously. That's why we also see Lakers and Warriors role players on those fan vote lists. Like Klay Thompson should have been no where near getting All Star votes and fans had him (and Austin Reaves) at 9 and 10 in guard voting for the first vote count. It shouldn't be celebrated, it's kind of embarrassing tbh. The first fan vote for this season had Ja and LaMelo on it even though both those guys barely played by that time.
