All- stars are 24-30 players (based on injuries) All-NBA is 15 players Superstars should be in that 5-8 range. I'd really hold off on AD, on Book, maybe others. You hit like 12 superstars if not more. So why not just forget superstar label, because you're basically saying ALL-NBA players are superstars if we get to that 12-15 range.

I think this discussion makes me wonder a bigger question in the superstar discussion: Is it possible to be a superstar Shooting Guard in today’s league without having elite PG skills as well? Of course basketball is not position based as much anymore, but it feels like it’s much harder to win a championship now with an elite guard who doesn’t have high level passing vision.

I think one criteria we need that just makes things easier is having them as a top 10 player with playoff success. I’m ok with leaving Embiid off of the list. He’s a regular season star, but not a true superstar. The casual fan may or may not know how good he is, but they will for damn sure know how good a superstar like Steph or Bron is.

Going off the past few years with Ja there, the team went from the lottery to second seed in the west 2 years in a row. This season in particular the team was unrecognizable until Ja came back in December before his injury. Ja got hurt in 2 big playoff series the last 2 seasons. When he played, before those injuries, he carried much of the load for the team. Losing him each time changed the team from the 2 seed they were, to a play-in level team.

Lillard has always been a bit overrated in my opinion his FG% in playoffs is 41% that’s not good and he hasn’t been as good as usual this regular season which is why I don’t think superstar is appropriate to be saying about him. Maybe some years in the past that’s fine but I think he has a lot to prove this playoffs and being a 33 yr old there is way less benefit of the doubt than with with players like Ant and SGA

There's only few superstars in the lge Today who combine performance/ability with success and marketability. LBJ, Curry, Durrant, and Giannis. Jokic I'd say still a superstar as performance is off the charts although not marketable and Kyrie is also borderline as quite divisive. I may be in the minority, but Devin Booker has more playoff disasters than hero moments so I wouldn’t even classify him as a borderline line superstar. Same with Jason Tatum, like I feel as if they switch places with the other superstars in the league they don’t have those disasters so I think Jason Tatum needs to honestly prove himself more to solidify himself as a superstar in my eyes.

They lost in the finals to the warriors in a series where they were the heavy favorites, and lost to the heat twice in the playoffs while being the favorites. I personally find it hard to label him as a superstar when his team is really good but then gets upset quite often. So I would just like to see his stomp the eastern conference this year and compete for a championship, but I have this gut feeling something is going to go wrong or someone else with step up. Don’t have any proof that’s he is not a superstar but just like a feeling.

For me to be a superstar you have to be known to non nba fans some names transcend sports Jordan, Kobe, Shaq, Lebron, worldwide names just naming a few. But like I can go to my gf who doesn’t watch sports she knows lebron at least that’s superstardom she knows Luka cause of music, Jordan cause everyone does, that’s superstardom to me, otherwise your just an nba star

Shai has looked extraordinary, but if Ja isn't a superstar yet, he isn't either. He doesn't have the accolades of Luka and has less playoff success than Ja (not his fault, his teams were trash). Keep it consistent. At least let him get out of the first round this year first. Ja was also top 5 in MVP voting 2 years ago if we're really going to play that.
