Why? Pretty much every great riff is just a rip off and massaging of other great riffs that came before and doesn't make it ant less great or valid. That's always been the way of rock and roll and blues. The key is to put your own spin on it. Plus the V, IV, I riff is as old as rock an roll itself!!
