Thank you Jason. I could watch Nuno all day long. Short video but great content. Awesome interview where Nuno really opens up. Nuno is one of my all time inspirations......

Thanks Joe. It was a fun day. Got to have an hour long lunch with just me and the band that day. We had a great chat.

How cool is this interview? Nuno, while I love him to death, can be a bit reserved when doing interviews. I love how you managed to put him on an equal footing and do it like two friends having a talk. Loved it. Thanks.

+MrZovar : Thank you VERY much. The story behind that is that we also had Nuno doing an in-store appearance a few hours before we did this interview. Here is a link to the video of that which I also put together: kzbin.info/www/bejne/i2jPdpWtlMxshrs Then after that in the van on the way from the store to the venue where we did this Nuno and I got to talking and struck up a very natural connection. After we got settled at the venue and before Soundcheck, I was lucky enough to be invited in for lunch and got to hang out with Nuno, Gary, Pat & Kevin. I was just me and the 4 of them for about an hour. We talking about a whole bunch of stuff including the time when me and my friends drove 740kms just to see Extreme playing in Australia when they didn't come to our hometown back in 1993. By the time we got to do this video after Soundcheck we had already been hanging out for 5+ hours. And here's the inside gag of that whole video... You may have caught at 0:47 seconds Nuno is talking about the 1st album and says, "Which I believe is your favourite album", he was actually giving me a crap because at lunch he asked me, "So I get that you like the band, but tell me honestly what you DON'T like about us". I answered, "The first album. Aside from Play With Me, I was just never able to get into that album", hence why he dropped that in. So there you go. Your comment got the EXCLUSIVE story behind that moment out of me some year and a half later. If you liked that please go through my channel. There are interviews on there with Alex Lifeson, Vernon Reid, Guthrie Govan, Keith Emerson, James Lomenzo, Kiko Loureiro, Jordan Rudess among others. Cheers, Jason

+Ishibashi Music English KZbin Channel Thank you for that scintillating reply. You are lucky to have hung out with the guy. Back in college I tried everything I could to look and act like Nuno, and all we had then were magazines and the oh so precious VHS tapes of interviews. My guitar playing friends called me Nuno because that's all I would play every time I picked up a guitar. Those were good days. Hopefully, one day I will get to meet this person who has been a huge part of my life. And yes I have looked through your channel and will be coming back often, and also I have clicked the subscribe button.

@@markmcmullan3351 Listen carefully to his 1989 debut album, and you probably will recognize VH inspirations for songs like Teacher's Pet - riff kinda mix of VH's House Of Pain and Light Up The Sky, Wind Me Up - Eddie's Trademark Licks especially bends, Smoke Signals - Take Your Whiskey intro rip-off, Mutha's riff kinda mix of Unchained (even a sound of flanger) and Panama, Queen's flair in the songs like Watching, Waiting and Rock A Bye-Bye, Aerosmith vibes in Little Girls.

The main thing there is that you have a guitar you love. Nothing wrong with that if it inspires you to play 😉

Did he have a Marshall backstage? I've heard and seen that those amps usually aren't used and he has a Marshall right behind them actually for his sound.

I wasn't where ever and when ever you are referring to so I can't comment because I don't know. However, I can tell you first hand from being there doing this interview that he was really using those Randall amps at this show and they sounded mighty indeed!!

he mentioned that there was a time that he was not a washburn endorser. Anybody know when that was?
@JasonMcNamara10 жыл бұрын
That's something I never thought to ask Nuno at the time we filmed this, but I would say that it would have been around the early 2000's somewhere because if you check out the Guitar Wars video (I was lucky enough to be at the Osaka show in 2003) Nuno was also playing a Gibson Explorer.
@evalex7110 жыл бұрын
I do know that on Extreme's first album Nuno played a guitar that he had built from a Schecter body, a Warmoth neck, and Bill Lawrence pickups
@JasonMcNamara10 жыл бұрын
Momo Bobo That is correct. He talks about that very openly.
@wuwei515010 жыл бұрын
Ishibashi Music English KZbin Channel i have that DVD of guitar wars. He played the Explorer on just one song towards the end. But most of the time he was still playing the n4 albeit with a different sticker on it as opposed to the usual n4 reflector. Anyway, thanks again for uploading this. Thumbs up!

I spent hours with Nuno that day and I saw nothing of the sort and saw no change in his behavior or attitude to say anything of the sort. Seriously Doug, he was sooooo kind and giving to hang out with. I had lunch with the whole band and they were all warm and generous like I can't even tell you. It was fantastic. We talked about music, touring, our families and everything. It was like I'd known them for years. I would say Nuno was simply exhausted. As it was he got up early from a show the night before just to come to our store and do this hours before we filmed the Washburn/Randall spot....
