Just by this interview it becomes obvious he is a vary smart guy, I have seen his name in the past in some draws and now I feel really happy that he is this kind of person, very humble, down to earth and he just defeated Dimi

I watched Nuno playing in Estoril 2 years ago, and i thought to myself. This guy could actually acheive something quite special. At that time I felt he was missing a lot of self belief and confidence in how good his tennis actually was and could be. His coaching staff didn’t come across as being that amazing in that department. Anyway im so happy and proud for you lad. You deserve it and keep it going because you can do it! 2 years I became a close follower and a big fan! Vamos Nuno !!!!

I watched him play in Auckland last week. He got bageled by Alex Michelsen in the first set, and came back to win it in three. He's definitely got a really strong mindset and avoids getting distracted. Can't wait to watch him play next!

It's not so uncommon that portuguese people (specially young) speak good english. Films or foreigner productions don't get translated as in other countries, so people are used to hear proper english.

Many comments on his videos with people like "omg, he has such a good english!" Ya'll think Portuguese people are dumb or what? We speak English since we're kids and have the most neutral accent in the world.

Definitely many Portuguese speak English well but he sounds almost native - probably due to his time playing US college tennis

@alfonsopinto-ribeiro7969 Sure, but I've learned English all my life while growing up in Lisbon. I've never had to move to the US. I did move to London before becoming a "nomad" and yes, it improved my English (especially the speed of processing and becoming as a native language to me), but my point is that many people ask "how come?!" without realizing we do speak very good English in Portugal. At least since the Millenials generation. In my opinion, one of the main reasons for that is growing up watching movies in original voice + subtitles in Portuguese. In countries like Spain and South America (as 2 examples) they don't watch movies with original voice. It's all "dub" so they have no way to grow up improving their skills with English.

they seem to have stopped interviewing the losers after the game. they're doing pre game interviews with the seeds I think. this makes more sense to me, no one wants to talk about how good their opponent was when it's still fresh. always struck me as odd that they made them do this.

Failing to capitalize 11 of 11 breakpoints, and having 1 successful breakpoint of 12 overall. Failing to close the fourth set on his serve. Losing the match after losing the last three points of the tiebreak with three unforced errors and the first of them is a double fault on his set point. And all of the above after loosing two sets for 1-2 sets with 4:6 and 2:6 from some absolutely unknown player. That’s a failure with Dimitrov’s trademark. He can’t handle even to be a favorite in the third round of a GS tournament.
@whogivesafack-ch3lj
@whogivesafack-ch3lj Жыл бұрын
He will never learn to capitalize on those points. I've said it many times. He is the best least successful player ever. He is super skilled, he can rival anyone but when it comes to win the big points he chokes. That's why he hadn't won a title since 2017 until now. That's why he hasn't won a slam even though he has all of the skills. When he is on he is unbeatable. He does everything to lose. Imagine losing the second set when you win over 70 percent of your point on first and second serve. I've never seen anything like it
